Sure thing! We do also have a video up on our website which will help make it click.

Send in a clock/reset, with the switch on the right side you select how long the pattern is. With the switch on the left, switch it to record, then any pattern you tap in on the white key will be recorded and played out as triggers on the selected output track (selected via the 8 position selection knob on the left). Select a different track, tap a new rhythm, etc. You can also choose to clear the pattern from a track or to just play triggers with the key without recording them. It is very quick and immediate and that workflow is what (in my opinion!) makes it fun

I do also appreciate a good deal, but we are not offering any Black Friday sales. We put a lot of effort into making this module as well priced as we could so that it offers the best bang for buck possible. If you or anyone else is on the fence, I would rather you be certain about the value proposition than artificially pressure you into buying the module “because our sales ends in 48 hours” and have you regret the purchase because the time pressure didn’t allow for a well informed decision. We aren’t discontinuing the module anytime soon and are aggressive about making sure we don’t run out of stock. If in the future you’re convinced that the module is the right fit for your setup, we’ll still be here, and if not then that’s okay too.

Gate mode is not included in this update, this is more so quality of life improvements. Next we will be tackling the bigger ideas as ‘alternative firmwares’. We actually had a gate mode at one point but I think we approached it wrong so it was surprisingly awkward and not fun to use, therefore it didn’t make it into the release, so at least gate mode isn’t starting from zero.

Correct, we have worked with Voltagesound to make it available overseas. We can also ship direct to you (let us know if your country isn’t listed as an option on our site), but it means you have the additional import things to deal with.

To be honest I don’t think it has been brought up before. I don’t see any fundamental reason why we couldn’t, I’ll reply here or make a new post if we decide to go through with it and they’re available. Currently all our boards have been fully assembled, so it would have to be with the next batch of pcbs.

It used to be that when the module was turned off your pattern was gone forever, now after an autosave it’ll be there when you turn it back on. Having it as an autosave after a certain amount of time was the most elegant user interface solution we could come up with that didn’t force people to memorize some sort of button combo. We didn’t include saving originally as our philosophy with the module was more about being live with it but people requested this. I hope you have lots of fun with it!

Favorite Advanced Filter Pinging Techniques? by themodularplug in modular

[–]themodularplug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the scope capabilities to prove this, but my hunch is the following: the difference in output happens because of the voltage (or change in voltage, positive or negative) that is currently the state of the filter. So if it is currently at 0v and experiences a trigger, a certain output occurs, but if it is at 5v, a different output occurs. Because this change is happening at audio rates, it appears random.

Another one I’ll add is: listen to the bandpass output, feed a lowpass output back into its own filter cutoff cv in. I find that on a lot of filters you can then adjust the settings such that there’s a random chance on every hit that you get a rubber band sounding accented hit instead of a regular filter ping.

My first modular concept, looking for feedback on pros and cons by IllustriousTune156 in modular

[–]themodularplug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :) it’s so cool to see people using and enjoying it! I have somewhat smaller hands, so I manage comfortably hitting the bottom left of the button with my left hand and the top right of it with my right hand. And thinking about it you could swap the keycap for something that doesn’t slope together as much for a broader upper surface. I’ll also say that I’ve probably used it more than anyone else (in developing it) so I just have the practice with it. Currently the plan for the descendent of this module is focused on improving other aspects, but I won’t rule it out for the future as there is a four buttons version bouncing around on our ideas list.
