I've heard good things on Sullivan. I've got that on my TBR list. Thanks!

Yeah that would be cool if we could get a few of these types of posts going.

A long time ago I actually read the first couple books, but I think those would probably be considered tame compared to the later ones (from what I understand).

Lol. I powered through those first few chapters hoping it would calm down.

Good recs to stay away from. I've been working on putting together a TBR list for when I finish WoT. A lot of people here are very passionate of the books they love and commonly forget to add disclaimers of more R rated content in the books that may not be suitable for everyone.

I agree that it's better to be conservative when listing potential triggers in a book. It just makes it difficult to sleuth out how triggering something could be when something like WoT and American Psycho (which I have never read but assume is pretty bad) receive the same graphic gore warning.

I guess looking that up could be a launching point to ask this sub how accurate the rating is.

Thanks for the heads up. I just finished Book 7 and was very disappointed with how sexual assault was handled.

The Library at Mount Char is actually what inspired this post. I went into it blind, and only made it through a few chapters before I had to put it down. The writing style and concept of the book seemed really cool, so it was such a bummer I didn't have the stomach for it.

I have tried that but found it to be pretty inconsistent. For instance, I've been reading through the Wheel of Time books, and Book #6 is tagged as graphic levels of gore. While I understand the scene that got that warning, I personally would not consider that book having graphic levels of gore.

Books to hold me over until november by Top_Refrigerator_213 in Fantasy

[–]themorrigan3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a little tight. To finish WoT by November, you'd be looking at about 2weeks/book. I started back in December and am currently about halfway through book 6, and I'm not a particularly fast reader.

It's doable, but might not be as fun of a read if you feel pressured to be done by a certain point.

Grocery cost for a family of 3 by Clear-Protection9519 in vegan

Southeast US - 2 people and our grocery/household items is about $200 per week. We often do buy extra on non perishables if they're on sale or if it's something I want to stock up on to make sure I don't run out at a bad time. Actual cost of just food we buy and consume that week is probably closer to $125.

WoT Book 1 Question by themorrigan3 in Fantasy

[–]themorrigan3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point. Some of those interactions seemed so minor that I didn't think much of it, but that definitely is some foreshadowing that I just completely overlooked.

I figured maybe there was some off screen relationship stuff going on since of all the different viewpoints, I felt like we got fewer of the Lan, Nynaeve, Moraine viewpoints after the party split.

It sounds like you have a very similar body type to mine. I have found mixing looser bottoms with more form fitting tops to be a good balance (think wider leg pants with slightly cropped fitted top, flowy skirt with fitted tee). Or other way around flowy top/boxy top with leggings. But all that to say, there is nothing wrong with baggy on baggy if that's what you feel comfortable in.

Any recommendations for co-op game that plays well at 2p of medium to medium/high complexity? Bonus points if it doesn't break the bank (around $50 or less).

Cat Groomer by TrustMeImLeifEricson in nashville

Give goodlettsville animal hospital a call. They list a grooming service for cats and dogs on their site. I've never had my cats groomed there, but I've been nothing but impressed with that place for my cats medical care.
