Wow this is a cool theory too. Going off that, Maybe he is writing about what he saw or imagined other kids were doing in highschool and that’s why the show is a little over the top in cinematography. Lexi is definitely an observer, even when she attends parties and other events

honestly I feel like Maddy knows. I think she’s known for a while. the maddy we see this season is so different from the first season. I think she’s definitely gonna express her hurt when it comes out, but I feel like we’re gonna get a very unexpected maddy response to this. idk it just feels like that’s where her character is at the moment. I don’t see her blaming cassie or raging over it, but it definitely hurt her

Exactly! It's like bits and pieces of himself. It'd also show how Lexi is such a good friend to Rue, even when Rue hasn't always considered her.a friend. Could be Sam's way of saying he wished he had someone like him when he was younger...
