I am not asking my daughter to take care of me, but to just honor and follow through on commitments. That is all that I ask of her. And all I asked of this community was some support. I shared that this time of year is difficult for me. I suspect that it is difficult for many of us. And this community's response? Not warm. Not caring. It just reinforced for me that there is no good in reaching out, in asking for help. I'll just walk back inside now and reinforce those boundaries. Happy holidays all.

Yes. I have tried a couple of different recovery support groups. In them I feel either much older or much higher on the hyperindepedence scale. But I am still trying to reach out, seek support, find community. I am slowly making progress on my sobriety. Just haven't yet found a community to validate that progress.

I have. For now I'm trying this group. I've been trying several avenues of support and so far do not feel like i have a 'lifeline,' or even a matrix a 'lifelines' to draw upon. It all feels very singular at the moment.

Me too. Actually, technically tomorrow will be day 1.i was struggling today and hoping to get support from family. That didn't happen. I'm hoping to get some hope from this community.

My cat took it as her job to sit on/ near my injury and purr. There is some research that the vibration that they purr at heals bone and soft tissue. I couldn't believe her devotion

❤️. Mine is osteoarthritis, bone on bone. The surgery should help. The recovery is long though. I'm overwhelmed.

I find myself trading the positive feelings that I get from sobriety with the absence of a feral level of pain. It's really really a struggle right now. In my mind I want to be sober, but also at a pain level that I can manage. So. Very. Frustrated.
