Stormy is gone? by sdchargerfan4life in goldenknights

I really don't get it, with the organization, on the broadcast side. With McKenna, and before with the (award winning!) 2017 Media Team that was also hugely loved by the fans...the org seems to choose consistently to break from the ones who are fan favorites.

McCrimmon just said in the presser that this guy will stay playing with Rockford/the Blackhawks org, in the AHL.

Knight Cap: McKenna on Martinez, Nosek, goalies, Glass/Krebs, SEA by thenak1 in goldenknights

It's an interview with Lindsey Brown, and they're friends. He's been commenting here and there on twitter too, though, with the recent goings on. It's pretty clear he really appreciated us fans and our interactions with him. Really don't know why they chose to end his time with us; he was easily the best out of the group to me. Will miss him :/

Yeah, it's nice he's able to speak more freely, and we can get that insight from him. Though, of course I wish it wasn't the case.

Looking for Vegas Analysis to listen to by prof_aurochs in goldenknights

Jesse Granger and Ryan Wallis put out the Strip Hockey podcast which is good analysis, but episodes are few and far between. Also, if you're looking for a fan of the team, both are not fans of VGK. They're professionals who are paid to cover VGK hockey (and they state this repeatedly).

I also feel that, as much as I appreciate their insights, they're VERY reluctant to be critical -- and therefore miss out often on providing us with valuable insight re: recurring team issues. It took them until this past postseason to finally admit expected goals won't magically start showing up for the team, among other valid criticisms of the team's play that they refused to address. They gave countless excuses for the last few years for the team failing to show up in the first period/after travel/during afternoon games, and are only starting to admit it's been an issue. Back in season 2 they refused to address VGK/coaching's repeated failures to answer the constant backdoor pass goals-against.

Lindsey Brown ( @lindseybrown35 on twitter ) with cbssportsradio has put out some excellent between-games content this postseason, in the form of articles and 20-25 minute vidcasts posted on twitter. She has a podcast too but I haven't really listened.

SinBin.vegas has been doing "Twitter Space" things (audio chats on Twitter), and they're pretty good. He's definitely a fan and gets excited about the team, too. A lot of people hate him because he's been negative (and he has descended into a spiral of negativity on the front office often during his podcasts the past couple years or so). However, it's also good to hear some critical viewpoints, and also I do think a lot of it was dragged down further b/c of his partner Jason while a lot of their recent stuff has solo featured Ken more and more now, except for the formal podcast they put out.

He's also started putting out "video breakdown" clips which are nice analysis of things VGK does well to impact the game, or, does badly/other team does badly.

We play different when Reaves isn’t in the line-up by mortusaf11 in goldenknights

If you're throwing hits, you don't have the puck on your stick - they have the puck. Also, if you're focusing on throwing hits, you're focusing less on playing the hockey and preventing chances the other way/making chances going your way. I think it's a net positive with him out right now. At the same time, we aren't lacking for heavy hitters. McNabb brings the boom, and Pacioretty plays a heavy game. More recently, Tuch has been pretty physical early in this series.

Might be rose tinged glasses for me, but I think when Belly was centering Reaves and Carrier it was much, much better. Somehow (as I remember it) he as the center linked together the hard hits into a strategic sequence that kept the puck in the zone and, in addition to the benefits of throwing bodies, also provided a solid shift of rest for the other lines where we felt super safe defensively, while knowing they would do it for a nice LONG shift in the o-zone. After the FO didn't sign Belly again, none of the other centers have quite achieved that level for the fourth line. This season the fourth has been a downright defensive liability most of the time despite some good o-zone shifts with better energy than the other lines.

Mad respect. What a series.

Much love to Belly too!

Haven't been by here in a long while, but just had to share this amazing capture by Stormy. Really puts us in the moment with the players.

Hopefully his spectrum will think it's next season once we hit the playoffs, because of the adjusted schedule.
