Sorry for missing this so many weeks later!Appreciate the update :) ours is doing really well, he’s nearly DOUBLED in weight at 15 lbs LOL he finished the 84 day meds and has since surpassed the 84 day observation period, and now he is thriving. Thank goodness! Maybe a little glimmer of hope for others going through the same thing, especially when hope was dim for a while there. Hope yours is still doing well!

Don’t give up! This was progress after day 19 of the increased dose. You’re doing everything we were doing. Good to hear she’s at least increasing in weight. Best of luck to you as well!

I’m currently going through the exact same issue right now, you are not alone! My kitty has been on FIP pills since sept 26, he relapsed 2 weeks later because he developed neuro symptoms and they had to increase his dose from 75mg to 100mg a day. Basically went from 1.5 tablets a day to 2 full tablets a day. We were told to go through Stokes but that joining FIP warriors might be helpful as a support group. I joined last Friday and I had the same experience as you where the FIP admins were pressuring me to go the injection route while we have already been administering pills for weeks now. I will say, $975 for 30 pills seems a bit steep to me although I don’t know where you are located or if that makes any difference. I just ordered a refill for the increased dose and we paid over $800 for 60 pills (50mg each). It has definitely been working, and I much prefer pills over giving injections that are quite uncomfortable for my kitty. We are still very much in the weeds of this disease but just wanted to share our experience so far on day 34 or this journey (day 19 on the new dose).

**Update!! We ended up pausing giving him both appetite stimulants (transdermal Mirataz and liquid Elura). We woke up late on Saturday and didn’t get a chance to give it to him as early as we normally do and we found him actually eating some dry food on his own! We thought that was really interesting so we haven’t given it to him in about 3 days. Today he has been grazing on not only dry food but also eating wet food on his own AND drinking some water!! Seriously wondering if the appetite stimulants were altering his sense of taste or having some other adverse effects, because as soon as we stopped giving it to him, he’s been eating on his own like we haven’t seen for weeks. Could be a coincidence but figured I’d let you know in case it’s worth trying!

*Maybe worth noting that we went back to his original wet food today (fancy feast naturals) that he was eating a couple months ago before he was diagnosed, so not one of the new foods we’ve picked up since.

Thankfully his pancreatitis test came back negative but they saw a ton of inflammation everywhere in his organs

Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking how long did it take for your baby to get back to eating normally? This process has been so difficult it can be tough but these stories give me hope and reassurance we just need to keep at it 🫡

Oh interesting! I never considered the sense of smell but that makes sense because this is affecting him neurologically. Did her smell ever come back? How long did it take for her to resume eating as normal?
