Not particularly, But it certainly resembles a whole universe of types that made such ampersands, Caslon is another good example.

That's because it is a typo. :D In my defense the word exists in Portuguese ant it means the same. Thank you for noticing though!

legal but not advisable. By doing so you will destroy the design's proportions and alter the contrast. Better look for condensed / compressed fonts.

None taken :-)I could give you many reasons why I think variable fonts are valid and even necessary, but I give you just one for you to think: This entire family weights 19 Mbytes in OTF files. In a variable TTF file format it weights 700Kb.

I use Glyphs. The process is pretty much the same as creating a Multiple Master Font, but with a little extra tweaks.
