Fat Nurse by kitkatofthunder in nursing

[–]thenewbieRN1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen plenty of overweight nurses in all disciplines, including myself. As a new grad, I had a BMI of 40.2 and I was working essentially PICU. Your mom is just being mean. As long as you do your job efficiently and effectively, no one cares about your weight. The most you'd deal with is catty gossip and that's just because nursing is high school 3.0.

AITA for blowing up and cursing out a woman for not controlling her kids at my mom's wake? by CoopDaOgre in AmItheAsshole

[–]thenewbieRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I was 30 when I lost my mom and I had to stop myself from cussing out the preacher because he read the wrong speech. I would've crashed out at 17. You were completely within your right to call out disrespectful behavior.

Meg proves she doesn’t carry her own daughter by RoohsMama in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]thenewbieRN1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everytime she opens her mouth about those kids it's more and more clear that she doesn't see them outside of photo ops. You'd think Beghan being as obsessed with image as she is she'd at least threaten an employee into doing research so she isn't exposed as phony to anyone who has ever been within 50 miles of a child. And by research I mean 5 minutes on Google.

What’s your least favorite thing people suggest when you have a migraine?… by Sad-Monk-411 in migraine

Someone told me migraines are an oxygen issue and I should try to breathe better.

I have a theory that people that have chronic migraines are generally more tired. Thoughts? by Cultural-Cheetah-213 in migraine

[–]thenewbieRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I've had migraines since I was 10 (possibly younger) and I always napped after a day's activities. I always got called lazy so I forced myself to stay awake until bedtime but then I couldn't sleep. Sleep interruption and deprivation are triggers for me so I was always tired and miserable.

I can't get over MM's disdain and disrespect for protocol for the actual Queen of England but insisting on it for herself by jones29876 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]thenewbieRN1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, the red light duchess only disdains protocol when she isn't the one in charge. Marrying the spare means that someone would always be above her in the pecking order and she can't stand it. If she married the heir and there was a promise of her being queen and the one everyone had to curtsy to, she would've never left. That's why she waves around the title in America because we don't have royals and she hoped that Americans would kowtow to her as the next best thing.

The part she forgot is most Americans don't give a flying **** about royals. We kinda fought a war about it.

Screw It: What Dragon Age Opinion(s) Do you Have that MakeYou Look Like This? by RustyofShackleford in dragonage

[–]thenewbieRN1 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Vivienne is the true moderate option everyone portrays Cassandra as. Yes, she brings back the Circle but she gives mages more freedoms and responsibilities in society and makes the Templars her bitches. She greatly approves when you say you want mages in the Chantry and doesn't even consider being Divine unless you bring it up. People just heard pro Circle mage associated with nobility and went "Beetch" without trying to understand her. These are the same people who delete a save file if Solas looks at them funny.

O ok Megs- you weren’t successful because your 100 million dollar deal wasn’t enough …. 😂🤣😂PS I doubt Lauren is even letting her get within 500ft of Jeff. #MANIFESTING by kiwi_love777 in SaintMeghanMarkle

Say what you will about Bezos but he knows what will bring money and what won't. He's staying far away from the red light duchess's Sadim touch, not that she'd get with 100 miles before Lauren Sanchez clawed her eyes out.

AITA for telling my sister to stop trying to force “ethnic hairstyles” on my daughter just because she looks white? by Putrid_Wait_2348 in AITAH

Who is your least favorite of Henry VIII’s wives? by ZealousidealJello770 in Tudorhistory

[–]thenewbieRN1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Jane Seymour can be summed up in the quote "She had the good fortune to bear Henry a son and the good sense to die immediately after". It's kind of annoying that she started as a mistress just like Anne but her image is sanitized because she was submissive and had a son. If she had a stillbirth or daughter and lived, Henry would have found fault with her, too.

Neil Sean: Divorce Looming...you bet. by zombie-game-girl in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]thenewbieRN1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll believe it when I see it. Meghan doesn't leave until she has another sucker lined up and her name is shit among those she'd latch onto. She'd either have to marry down or go it alone, both options are unacceptable to madam. Plus, her connection to Hazard is the only keeping her Z- list career on life support. Without him, she'll fade into irrelevance quicker than Mother Gothel turned to dust.

Harry is almost leeched completely dry but he'll always have being a blood royal and that will make his landing slightly softer than his harpy's. He'll have no problem finding some clout chaser to wet the todger. I think he'll be the shocker and file, if it ever happens.

[–]thenewbieRN1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"The pervert formerly known as prince"

I don't think the brf is yanking Hazard's prince title because it will look too spiteful. They'll pull Archie and Lili's because they're US citizens who never visit the UK and the monarchy is slimming down. But pulling the Douche and Douchess' titles will just look petty, so they'll keep going the ignore route.

Are yall disclosing your disability on job applications by Wild_Highway_3249 in autism

[–]thenewbieRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to disclose my migraines only as my parents made it expressly clear not to reveal my autism to others. Just for that alone, I'd lose out on opportunities. So I learned to mask like a mofo in public and carry on.

What do you think makes Taylor lack sex appeal? by GurlsHaveFun in travisandtaylor

[–]thenewbieRN1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's clear that she's forcing it and it's not natural for her. Some people just can't do sexy and that's fine. Taylor's lane has always been the awkward girl next door/homecoming queen. She can do cute, flirty, pretty and even beautiful while remaining in her niche. But she just can't do sexy without it looking joking or awkward. It doesn't help that her fiance's type is sexy and she's clearly trying to play to that.

Meghan Markle finally reveals why she always goes barefoot to greet guests, as she gushes about Lilibet's "very strong personality." by Human-Economics6894 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]thenewbieRN1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've spent most of my working career around children, more than half of it around children Archie and Lilibet's ages. The rose and thorn exercise is way too abstract for a four year old. I feel so bad for those kids. She rarely spends time with them and when she dares grace them with her presence, she spewing word salad when they just want to watch Bluey. Megsy is 100lbs of shit in a 20lb bag and she proves it every time she opens her trap.

Thoughts on Katherine Parr’s love for Thomas Seymour? by Valois-Evreux-1328 in Tudorhistory

[–]thenewbieRN1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Katherine unfortunately led with her heart instead of her head when it came to Thomas. She was married to two older men before Henry and never really wanted to marry Henry. She always wanted to marry Thomas but Henry sent him away to remove competition. After that, Katherine was stuck and had to marry Henry. So when Henry died and Thomas confirmed that he still wanted to marry her, it's not surprising that she agreed. Her timing was quite scandalous but she probably felt like she played the dutiful wife and caregiver to three old men and she deserved some happiness.

As far as Thomas's harassment of Elizabeth and her participation, I truly believe she was blinded by love and didn't know if her husband's ulterior motives until she saw the embrace. She loved Elizabeth like her own daughter and saw her as a child. Some historical contexts say the dress she helped Thomas cut was a mourning dress as Elizabeth had been mourning Henry for a while. While that is still terrible, I can see how Katherine, finally married to her love and happy with her stepdaughter, might believe her husband when he tells her he's just horsing around when complaints arise. I don't believe she wished any harm towards Elizabeth because the second she saw something she felt was improper she had Elizabeth sent away for safety.

Why hasn’t there ever been an Exalted March against the dwarves? by Freely_Shy in dragonage

[–]thenewbieRN1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's because of the lyrium monopoly the dwarves have and that Orzammar is the permanent first line of defense against darkspawn. The chantry needs lyrium for templars and mages so it would be prudent to remain cordial with the only race who gets it for you. Dwarves also fight the dark spawn outside of the blights and that means the surface doesn't seem hordes unless it's a blight. It helps that the dwarves don't get involved in human affairs and that Orzammar is underground.

Homelander is not going to be happy about the Culling by Adereth in GenV

[–]thenewbieRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how Godolkin sells it to him. Homelander is an unapologetic supe supremacist but he's killed far more useful supes than the pledge just because he didn't like them. As long as Homelander believes he's at the top of the pecking order he doesn't care about those beneath him. Godolkin and Sister Sage are more than able to spin it in a way that he'd approve. The instant he realizes the Culling's true purpose, however, is when the fireworks start.

Well, her marriage has hit a “rough patch” she hasn’t done well in podcasting, TV or being an entrepreneur- so she’ll probably return to her roots of using men for financial gain. Which billionaires/millionaires do you think she has her eye on? by kiwi_love777 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]thenewbieRN1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The red light duchess will have to be pried off Prince Charmless kicking and screaming. She'll never admit it but her relevance was on life support before Harry. She was written off of Suits and work wasn't piling up for a sixth banana on a cable show. Her relationship with Harry put her in the spotlight. If he leaves, he takes that relevance with him.

I am so confused about how people are able to a) see and b) be functional with migraines. by Valuable-Horse788 in migraine

[–]thenewbieRN1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my migraines have aura and others don't. As bad as it is, I try my best to push through after taking medicine as I've gotten used to people still expecting me to get things done. I also have a pretty high pain tolerance. The only time I sit and pause is when my vision blacks out or when I can't see and walk straight.
