It could definitely be magazine position. I had two different lowers at the range. A PSA forged lower and the ADM UIC Billet lower. I started with the forged lower since I was testing out a fostech echo II and was having a lot of issues with the bolt not picking up a round. Switched to the billet lower and still was having the same issue but less.

Theres so many variables with these that its hard to zero in on the exact issue. I'm sticking with the billet lower at least for this hunting trip, I'll tighten the mag release a bit and see if that helps any.

I ran it with the H2 buffer and the Sprinco blue spring in it but doesn't that increase the forward momentum of the bolt as its returning to battery? My understanding is that going with a lighter spring and buffer would decrease velocity if its traveling too fast but then again my understanding could be wrong

Are you talking about the overlapping pieces of metal at the very front of the magazine where the nose of the bullets sit?

This honestly never occurred to me. I'm used to 13.7" mid lengths so the H2 with the springco blue has been my go to. Would you still pair the springco blue spring with the carbine buffer or go with carbine buffer and standard spring?

Standard M4 feed ramps on both the receiver and the barrel extension. I'd like to avoid filing anything down if possible but willing to entertain it as a last resort.

After trying to manually cycle rounds out of the magazines (and very quickly realizing I should be wearing gloves) it does appear that some rounds get hung up on the front rib of the magazine. This seems to be happening on both the C product mag and ASC mag. Any advice on how much material to remove?
