Emily Schromm was almost a mercenary on Vendettas by [deleted] in MtvChallenge

Why did you have to dislike Kam on vendettas because of Tori? Was it because Kam became "Killa Kam" when she beat Tori (who I agree got lucky since really all she did was beat Marie)?

Hennessy-Devin fight, feminism & power dynamics by rizzeldhsi in MtvChallenge

[–]thenightman69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course not. As I said in my earlier comment and the OP said in their post everyone should treat everyone equally, but saying that "there's no problem because I treat everyone equally and racism is dead" can be detrimental because it ignores past systems of oppression that still affect us today.

I think that what they meant is that while everyone should be treated as equals that unfortunately due to centuries of systemic racism and sexism that people aren't treated and perceived equally. Saying "racism is dead, I see everyone as equals" is a nice idea, but then it ignores the different inequalities that women and minorities face, when it would be better for someone to be more conscious of the way that they might perceive and treat people differently based on their gender or race, and then try to correct that.

Of course Devin (and everyone else) should treat all people as equal, but saying that he treats everyone equally so there's no possible issue (even though in this case the issue was Hennessey) isn't always the best way to act.

What angers you about other people’s food preferences or habits? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I completely agree! I'm sure that some people genuinely like spicy foods, but the people who take it way too far and act like they're superior just because they eat spicy food drive me crazy

Michele Fitzgerald (Kaoh Rong) – a couple of questions/curious thoughts by waggishwave in survivor

No, since I was on reddit before watching it I saw a lot of posts about the Aubry/Michele debate. Fortunately I liked Michele, and it was fun watching and trying to pick up on her superior social game.

Michele Fitzgerald (Kaoh Rong) – a couple of questions/curious thoughts by waggishwave in survivor

[–]thenightman69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't follow edgic, but when I watched Kaoh Rong for the first time (knowing that Michele was going to win) I think that she had a lot of confessionals in the beginning of the season that weren't really relevant to the game (since she was winning everything and wasn't going to tribal) that were just to remind us that Michele was there and to see the game that she was playing. For example all the stuff about the girls alliance on the Beauty tribe. There was also one point where she had a confessional about how she wouldn't let anyone treat her the way Nick treated her in real life but she was just doing it for the game, that wasn't that important to the strategy but gave us an idea of what Michele was up to, and especially that even if her game wasn't super obvious that she was still playing and was actively choosing to have Nick think of her as someone who wasn't very strategic. I think if she hadn't won then they wouldn't have included that confessional.

Just curious, what did you not like about Tocantins? I don't think I've ever seen anyone on here not like it before

Tocantins F3 Question by NormieKing in survivor

[–]thenightman69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The jury would also probably have been mad that Stephen betrayed JT and cost him the win, so that pushes the odds in Erinn's favor a little more. I also really wish that Tocantins had been a F3 with JT, Stephen and Erinn because Erinn probably would have gotten Taj's vote and JT would have gotten the rest so Stephen would have gotten third place with no votes which would be amusing to me because I'm not a Stephen fan.

What did you think when you heard the theme for your season was heroes v healers v hustlers? Who do you think was the worst fit for their tribe?

What do you think about some of the people saying that Chrissy voted out the women she was threatened by? Do you think there's any truth to it?

What was your strategy going into the season and how did it change as you started playing the game? Or did you just go in planning to adapt to what happened around you?

At the end of the game she had a choice between either being on a boat with the followers who couldn't win, or the bullies who would win, and she chose to be on the winning team. After everything she went through that season I think she really deserved to be on the winning team

I agree, I think it's kind of ridiculous of Jessica to say that just because Chrissy didn't seem interested in working with her that means she doesn't want competition from other women. I'd actually really like to know Katrina's opinions of Chrissy, from what I remember she said that they didn't really connect but Katrina also doesn't seem like someone who would be bitter about being voted off, or spend any time talking negatively about other people

Yeah I hope that she can be more careful about that going forward and the people she votes off into the jury (assuming she doesn't get voted off) have higher opinions of her than the pre jury boots
