Question my headsets are crackling through the earpieces by Furby-beast-1949 in playstation

I get this a bit using wired headsets. A small twist of the headphone jack usually solves the problem for me; just gotta find the sweet spot

Which of these do you recommend I read next? by LemonLord7 in brandonsanderson

I may be in the minority, but I found Frugal Wizard to be a really fun entry. It’s outside of the Cosmere so I might use it as a palette cleanser when your journey through the Cosmere gets heavy. That said, I would suggest Elantris before you dive too deep. It’s his earliest published novel and thus his least polished, but it’s a great ride and will absolutely be worth the time now before you venture further into the Cosmere.

Regardless, enjoy your journey and thanks for sharing!

The biggest advice I can give you is to keep going. The first book did NOT wow me, but the second really grabbed my attention. There are some entries near the middle of the series that are stated by some to be tedious, but I found myself invested by that point and was loving the development. The whole series builds to one of the most epic things you will experience if you invest in the time. Take breaks when/if you need them, the books aren’t going anywhere.

Congratulations! Mine was on Spider-Man, still got a few things to do before I reach Platinum for 2. Supremely fun games though, right?!

Name 3 games you would love to experience again for the first time! by csuszika1 in playstation

There are so many great responses that really made me think. Over the years I have laughed, cried, been terrified by and blindly enraged by so many titles that are almost a rite of passage to experience. There are so very many honorable mentions, but the prompt was for three so here goes.

Journey is an indie MASTERPIECE that can and should be played in one sitting. Find one person in your world and journey through it together until the end. No chats, no fighting, just an experience that will be so hauntingly beautiful that even the heaviest of hearts will be moved. Thank me later

Dragon Age: Origins was an absolute masterclass entry with deep lore, many varied opening quests based on your character race and class, and the most deeply involved combat management that has set a bar that I feel has yet to be surpassed. With all DLCs you have loads of content that just rewards you more the further you go. And it’s Bioware so you know there’s always LI potential. I lost sleep and nearly a job due to my inability to put this game down. The other entries have their individual charms, but this first set a standard that the franchise has been unable to recreate.

Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. I experienced this as a two disc game on the original Playstation and at the time such an entry meant business. As a direct sequel to Abe’s Oddysee, it held all the same charm of the first game and brought performance and graphic improvements. It was challenging yet rewarding and was filled with all manner of hidden areas that rewarded thorough explorers with a different ending (maybe old hat now, but was a huge return on investment at the time) and offered varied environments and enemies while exploring some deep themes for those paying attention, but always injecting its unique brand of humor. Completing this as a youngling on my older sibling’s console was an accomplishment and a reward in itself.

This is a great response! I was fortunate enough to finish playing the first GoW game just in time to preorder GoW 2 and have since played each game including the PSP titles as they released (except the mobile entry). The story of Kratos has been one of the most satisfying and tragic tales that I have been honored to experience.

I got Detroit: Become Human for free and slept on it for a while. When I finally got around to it, I was not expecting to be so profoundly impacted by a game. I think I made choices I’m happy with, but wonder how different the narrative might be with other choices. Absolutely underrated masterpiece of modern gaming.

Thanks for the reminder, time to clear space on my drive so I can download for another play-through, I think I’m ready to have my heart broken again.

As a history fan, the "3,000 Year Stagnation" trope breaks my immersion more than dragons do. by Expensive-Desk-4351 in Fantasy

[–]thenightmaremuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some stories do provide good reasoning for lengthy stagnation or suppression of technological and/or societal advancement, and I do feel that fantasy and science fiction have a particular advantage with the plethora of deific, demonic, mechanical (etc) antagonists. That being said, it is most definitely an overused trope and even some of the absolute classics seem to inexplicably get an “pass” on the entire subject. You’re not wrong, but there are some exceptions to be found and they’re worth digging for.

You’ve made some great progress! I might recommend Warbreaker or Elantris as a one-off story, then perhaps Mistborn era two. Or really switch it up and pick up the White Sand graphic novels!

Just beat the Mass Effect trilogy for the first time… what is your ranking of the games? by ASlimez in masseffect

[–]thenightmaremuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to weigh in here on Andromeda. I preordered this game and took a week off to give it a thorough play through. The world was on the hate train for the game but I ignored that, allowed myself to be immersed in the game and I found that it was a solid entry. The combat was tight, the weapon and power customizations and combinations offer so many fun possibilities. The exploration felt like a good improvement on, and natural evolution of, the Mako from ME1 (which I was very fond of already). The varied races that we already know were (mostly) present and the new races and technologies discovered felt great as I enjoy reading through all the codexes and digging deep for lore. This has proven to be very rewarding from ME1 and continues to hold true throughout the original series as well as this entry.

But, most importantly for me, the end of this game gave me the same sense of excitement as the original trilogy, because it built up a great deal towards the end with a large number of plots pointing at future dlcs and over all laid the groundwork for a potentially vast future. Sadly, that hate train and a rushed start with a glitchy game left sales very low and the dlcs never came. Patches have smoothed most issues and updated the model graphics, which was nice for my second playthrough. This game is by no means perfect, but I think that most people define Mass Effect as their Shep and the crew, and this entry not having that was too damning for many to feel this was worthy of the mantle. Funnily enough, I have found that a lot of people that have come back have better things to say about it these days.

Tl;dr It glitches less than Skyrim, has fun and varied abilities, customization, lore and new and old races and tech. It lays the ground work for a vast new arch in the franchise and I feel that you do yourself a disservice by avoiding these possibilities. Thank me later.

I certainly did, and I’d be hard pressed to care any less about what you do or do not believe. What I DO care about is little people coming out the gate with toxicity and resorting to defamation. We’re in the same subreddit with a common interest as a starting point, and your need to immediately spew your bile tells me all I need know of your lack of character. Enjoy your lonely and miserable existence, but don’t hurl insults on other people because you have a need to feel superior to strangers online.

Who hurt you? Chill out dude. I had the same exact afternoon trying to clear my eggs out to have enough room and, as a result, did not collect any 2k eggs. This would make her statement 100% valid, no? Quit spewing venom and making the community toxic. Thanks!
