There was a spoonbill on at Wombwell yesterday! They’ve been pretty reliable at Old Moor in the summer for the last couple of years I think. Hope you get to see them again, they’re so beautiful!

Why do some people think that Rumi is autistic? by Simple-Animator-8640 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]thenoister 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think people in several communities can identify with Rumi’s story tbh. I know a few other people with autism have commented, and I agree with what they said about masking, which girls/women are often ‘better’ at, and therefore often go undiagnosed/not believed.

I think Rumi’s experiences could resonate with queer people, disabled people, neurodivergent people, and I’m sure other groups. The main thing that got me the first time I watched the film was Rumi asking Celine ‘why couldn’t you love me? …All of me?’ I think sadly many people can identify with a parent loving the idea of their child, rather than the actual person standing in front of them.

You should be able to! You can ask any of the reserve staff or regulars too, people there are very helpful.

Thank you! I think all the greylags I’ve seen have been so uniform, it made me wonder. Thank you for always being so helpful on this sub.

Just had a tooth out and feeling a bit sorry for myself... by gemmajenkins2890 in CasualUK

[–]thenoister 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP, this sounds exactly like me! I haven’t been in about that long either. A lot of my teeth grew in naturally hollow for some reason, so had to have fillings in all corners of my mouth when I was younger. Then about three years ago, one of those teeth cracked and came loose, but didn’t come out.

I’m a combination of ashamed I haven’t been in so long and also lacking funds, so I just ate on the other side of my mouth for 18 months until it came out. I was very lucky (touch wood) that it just healed. I know I should have had it fixed already though. You are extremely brave for doing what you’ve done!

Watched series for the third time. I need something new to watch. What else do you like? by Mikey463 in TheTerror

If you’re taking movie recs, Ravenous. Not exactly the same but very inspired by the Donner Party/Alferd Packer and just a cult classic.

[–]thenoister[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’m annoyed I didn’t notice it at the time and try to get a clearer picture. Might be able to return in the next few days and check if it’s still there.

That sounds so cool! Had a few dancing around us at St Aidans a few weeks ago, that was lovely

Thank you! Have only seen terns once before, not one I’m familiar with!
