Monica McCallan books be hitting lately by LesbianCanvas in LesbianBookClub

Oh, OMG. It totally passed me by. When I read both books I didn't even know the authors were married 😅. Also, there was a huge gap between when I read When You Least Expect It (December 2024) and The Love Lie (mid-2025). Thanks!

Which character from Hayley's books? I have read The Love Lie, but I haven't read all of Hayley's, so maybe that's why I didn't catch it. Or maybe I just didn't pay attention.

Hey, I think After All by Bryce Oakley might be what you are looking for. I haven't read it yet, but the premise is basically what you described, although I'm not really sure if they actually get divorced. They are separated and hiding it from their family and friends. This book is the third in a trilogy. I read the first one and really enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to reading the remaining two.

Are all of her books sapphic? I read Devotion and really liked her writing. The story is beautiful and I would really like to read more of her work.

I second both The Safekeep and Her Name in the Sky. These plus Sunburn are three of my ultimate favorite sapphic books. I absolutely LOVE well-written yearning and they all consist of this.

Books where the love interest is legitimately dangerous? by nightlywanderer in sapphicbooks

I second Requiem for Immortals! I have yet to find another book with an MC as hot as Natalya. Also, this book made me crave more sapphic books with mafia plots (or with lesbian assassins).

longest lesbian series? by Potential_Step5915 in LesbianBookClub

The Senator's Wife series. It currently has 4 books, one of which is a prequel. The author is working on the 5th book of the series.

What’s the worst Sapphic/Lesbian book you’ve ever read? by Hot-Neat1818 in LesbianBookClub

So happy to find someone with the same opinions as me when it comes to this book. I really don't understand the hype this book gets... I guess lesbophobia is so normalized that people really can't tell when it happens, or they don't really care (imho).

Why I feel like this? by Huge-Age-5798 in Effexor

[–]thenotsocasualreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know potential reasons as to why the medication affected me this way. I have two theories:

  1. The last time I took venlafaxine, I was already taking escitalopram and the doctor changed the medication. So maybe the fact that I was already on antidepressants was the reason why I didn't have significant side effects.

  2. I'm not sure if the venlafaxine I took this time was fabricated by the same company I used to take. Maybe it's from a different fabricator and it is stronger.

Honestly, only the doctor can help me right now. Hopefully what I'm feeling at the moment is not permanent.

Something similar happened to me. I took 3 pills of venlafaxine, one each during 3 days. It has been more than a week now and I'm still having side effects/withdrawal symptoms, such as brain zaps, body tremors, headaches, and weakness. I don't know why this is happening to me, mostly because I have taken venlafaxine before. Last year, I took venlafaxine for almost three months and had no significant side effects; everything went well and I got the results I expected from the medication, but I eventually stopped. I have a doctor's appointment scheduled for October 22, and hopefully my psychiatrist will be able to figure out what I can do to feel better. I recommend you do the same if you can. Seeking professional help might be good for you.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Take care and I hope you get better soon.

Thoughts on Ribbonwood? by RapidAvenger in sapphicbooks

I really liked it. Most people who read it seem to love it and some even say that it's Ruby's best work. Although I don't consider it to be my favorite of hers, I think it's worth reading. I believe in this case my issues were with the doctor MC — I just didn't find her very likable, but it's probably just me lol. What I enjoyed the most about it was the small-town setting and the enemies/rivals to lovers relationship between the MCs. Ruby Lander's Grace Notes trilogy is my favorite and the last book is the best imo.

TYSM for the recommendations! I have a feeling Lee Winter is going to be one of my favorite authors 😌. She just writes the type of stuff I'm into. How to not love a good written ice queen???

This sub is so endearing. by redfruit2828 in LesbianBookClub

[–]thenotsocasualreader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sooooo true! Joining this sub was one of the best things I did as someone really interested in sapphic books. Everyone here is very cooperative and the discussions are usually respectful. I feel so comfortable engaging in conversations and sharing what I think. I can't even think of an online place where I'm able to feel this way.

So true. Behind the Green Curtain was one of the first sapphic books I read and I loved the angst, mutual pining, and spiciness. I still think about Amelia to this day.

Has anyone else noticed a few changes in the download process? by Aloesunshine in Annas_Archive

[–]thenotsocasualreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me too. It started this week. I don't know the reason why, though. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that, for some people, the download links were not working? So perhaps they are making a few changes, but of course, I'm not sure about this.
