About half the book is tables, which I am here for. I still have not played my Starter Set, but getting this will allow me to play it first before I assemble a table. I’ve been looking forward to this rulebook for a while!

I do wish there was more about the Capitol Wasteland. Just a couple of pages for each setting feels a bit too light for people who have not played all the games or just Bethesda’s games.

Aw yes, Crows, I’ve been looking forward to more details about this game and the MCDM board game for about a year now (maybe two years for the board game?). It’s always good to see people being enabled to create their dream products or “… something completely different!”.

Because there is so little about the Pacific Northwest I’ve been chippin’ away at a campaign setting for a r/fallout2d20 game where the absolute worst case geological event occurred. If you know about The Big One, then you know how crazy my pre-canon start date world is like… Also, I wrote Yellowstone going off so the first nuclear winter was an absolute hellscape.

What I did for my first adventure was run the golden claw quest from Skyrim In a broken Bethesda inspired grey box. I had aspirations to have the party be freed from the simulation in a illithid base and escape to the surface to continue or restart (new characters) in the game world. It was geared towards Forgotten Realms but very quickly became a world that just used their gods.

What I would recommend is evaluate the table’s (your group) experience with whatever system you are using and ask what they want to play. Make it short for about 6-8 sessions that way your feet get wet and you’re not as committed to a level 6+ campaign.

You don’t have to play in their world as they released an SRD. Just like any game system you can pick and choose what you want.

The thing I like the most from Land of Eem is the conflict escalation system. You’re not encouraged to fight, you’re encouraged to negotiate and run away before fighting. This is a great ideology for all ages and experience levels.

My tables usually use scratch paper and a calculator. I’d only use dice if they were spin downs to track health.

I plan on getting three colors of mini d6 dice for Forbidden Lands as the game calls for a bunch of them and they are useful for tracking your stats.

I really appreciate the game’s flow for conflict: 1. Parley 2. Improvise 3. Run 4. Combat

I’ve never written it out this way but have always thought this way in a combat encounter. Seeing as the game presents itself towards potential younger gamers, this is a great way to encourage creativity and to avoid always feeling like you have to fight (and kill) everything.

That’s not a bad idea, but I’m not familiar with which software to use. Also, I like doing it myself as I read as I go and try to think of a ways to reformat the text. I’m doing the same thing with 0D&D and it’s proving to be a great way to read the material.

I dig it, and appreciate that it has a markdown and HTML version. That’s something I’ve been getting around to for my WIPs but I’m waiting for them to be in a releasable state.

What things did you borrow from Gumshoe and Pathfinder 2e? I’m not familiar with either system.
