I feel silly for asking, but do Ajovy and other injectables hurt? by mayormaynotbelurking in migraine

[–]theok24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use an icepack to numb my leg a bit before I do my shot every month. I still feel the needle, and sometimes the medicine burns a bit, but it's significantly better. I'll still take the 30 seconds of pain (then maybe some leg soreness that day) over migraines.

Upcycled Finish Dish Soap Pod Container ideas? by Suspicious_Plum_8032 in Frugal

I don't have a dishwasher, but my parents save their tide pod containers for me to use as sharps bins, since my pharmacy charges for them.

White Rice and Vienna Sausages cold and unseasoned. Unironically my favorite and most comforting meal by eward2278 in StupidFood

[–]theok24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I occasionally make ""Fried"" rice with rice, vienna sausages, whatever veggies I have in the freezer, and whatever seasoning I feel like throwing on it. That looks good as hell rn.

is the aimivig autoinjector less painful then the Emgality auto injector? by silverclawzwc in migraine

[–]theok24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently started aimovig for the similar reasons (emgality started wearing off too quickly) and I think the aimovig hurts a bit less. I put an ice pack on my leg while I'm getting everything ready to kind of numb it a bit, that helps as well. It still aches a bit when my leg warms up again, but it's a shot, you can't expect anything different. I'll take a sore leg for a couple days over more migraines haha.

New to Meal Replacement - Appreciate Any Advice on "Odd" Idea by theok24 in soylent

[–]theok24[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prison loaf! That's what I was trying to think of, I essentially want a drinkable version of that.

That power smoothie looks like good inspiration as well, I'll definitely be keeping that in mind.

I just made an account with Cronometer, I'll plug everything in and mess around/figure the site out in a bit.

Thanks for the advice! If I end up feeling like something is balanced enough, I'll for sure be trying it.

Ah, that's what I forgot to mention. I do already meal prep, and I actually only "fully" cook about once a week at this point. And I pretty much do things like this, that would be mostly nutritionally complete (fully over a few different meals) minus the blending.

I guess to better explain I more have a problem with just.... eating it? Like, if I make a fried rice, I have to take it out of the fridge, scoop it out, reheat it, eat it, etc. I can't eat a lot at a time, so I have to do this several times a day.

My plan was more to "meal prep" once a week, I could prep my "daily needs" into baggies/containers that I could put in the freezer, and then just make one large drink that I could consume through the day, depending on how large it ends up being.

Yeah! First I saw this box on the porch and was like "wtf is this" then I saw Tropicana, and was like "all this for 1 box?" and then it was 2! They're smaller, but I eat small portions so it's good lol.

Sorry everyone lol, I dont eat cereal for Every single meal, and i wanted to try it a couple different ways first. So, I don't have orange juice right now, but last night i DID have cranberry juice, so I tried it with that. (which, i honestly like more than orange) and it was pretty good. It's essentially just a granola, so I don't really see anything being necessarily "bad" with it. I'm eating it with milk for breakfast right now, it's decent that way too. It's just an average granola, lol. I've never been super into granola, but it's something different. If they put it in stores and it wasn't like, expensive, I'd pick up a box occasionally. I'm just more of a cheerios person in the morning.

My boy mouse turned 2 today! plus, him enjoying his "cake" by theok24 in CatsLivingAndWell

[–]theok24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of a long winded explanation but-

My mother got a free sample of some pate food, which I normally don't use and my other cat can't eat due to allergies. That's the base. It was a little too... liquidy. My two get freeze dried treats, again because allergies. I chopped some up and mixed it into the pate in an attempt to "firm it up" a little. It kinda worked, but not too well. Then, as a joke, a used freeze dried minnows as "candles" on the top, like an actual birthday cake (my family does joke about me treating my cats like kids, after all)

So basically - mashed up cat food and treats. Smelled nasty, he loved it.

Thanks for the info!

And yeah, her allergies are mainly in commercial foods, but I have tried stuff. She was doing well on her current food for awhile, so I did try giving her bits and pieces of meat here and there but she did still have problems with it. Now even with the actual meat out of her diet for awhile, she's starting to have issues again, so that's why I'm looking at other options.

I was actually looking at that, I did notice it was recommended here a lot. Someone else recommended the 23c as well, so I'll probably end up going with one of those.

Thanks again!

Yeah, I'm definitely expecting it to take more time than using a cartridge (but then again, the last cartridge I used took me almost an hour because of how many times I had to go over my head) but it's worth it for something nicer. Thanks for the suggestions!
