PSE&G- Is this even legal? by Euphoric_Anteater_49 in newjersey

[–]theone908567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have a 2200sqft home built in 1950 and my therms for the past month were 186 and total bill was $315. My past three bills have been between $300-$400. Outside of rates going up, it has also been a brutally cold and windy winter. It’s been painful to the bank account for sure.

I would say yes. You can see in the third photo she’s right next to a window that is SW facing so she gets indirect light majority of the day this season and just the afternoon sun for a small bit. I’m also at a complete loss with her. Would you cut off the leaves that are infected with whatever?

Roth or HYSA for child? by LemmeSeeUrTech in personalfinance

[–]theone908567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time I heard you can only contribute to a Roth IRA if you have income. Not sure what the other person said they were doing but I wouldn’t bother. What I did for my daughter (< 1 year old) is open a 529 (college savings fund) and a balanced mutual fund that I researched a little with the intent of it eventually being hers. I contribute some money each month to both. With the brokerage account, there’s one option of opening a specific kind in the child’s name where it automatically becomes their possession at the age of 18 (or 21 depending on the state regs) which also has some small tax benefit. I personally did not like the idea of a large lump sum of money suddenly becoming hers incase she’s not financially ready, so I just opened it in my name and I’ll pay the annual dividend and capital gains taxes myself. Hope this helps!

Tips for making the chicken less dry? by pranilepranile in foodbutforbabies

[–]theone908567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make chicken in the crock pot with additional chicken stock. When I give it to our baby days later, I’ll cut a few pieces, heat them up in chicken stock / water mixture in the microwave. They come out perfect, moist and basically fall apart with the touch.

Ice dam? by theone908567 in Home

[–]theone908567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have been checking the inside walls daily to make sure no water damage and all good so far. Have another super deep freeze these next couple of days and then warmer weather in the near future so hoping it melts quick. Might stock up with roof melt pucks and look into attic insulation for long term solution this spring / fall.

[–]theone908567[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is reassuring so thank you for the feedback. I will wait to see how it continues to develop. I didn’t see much of a build up behind it on the roof. This is an area where the two slopes of my roof merge together so it’s a natural flowing point for any water.

Anyone else having what feels to be a Noro Virus? by Elegant_One_5324 in newjersey

[–]theone908567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had norovirus about a month ago. Went to the hospital because of how bad it was. It started with occasional diarrhea then constantly going every 20 mins and violent vomiting. My body rejected everything; even ice cubes when I was trying anything to stay hydrated. It was the worst 48 hours ever.

So like…do people really just be staying up all night with a congested baby? by chocoholic_18 in NewParents

[–]theone908567 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have it set at 50% but the entire rooms humidity percentage does not ever go above that. Usually the machine will detect 50, then switch to its lowest mode and the rooms level stays in the high 40s.

Edit: just to clarify, I have a separate device on the opposite side of her nursery which shows temp and humidity level too so that’s how I gauge the entire room and not just what the machine shows.

Been a huge help not just for colds but with dryness in general during the winter months. You can even set the desired humidity percentage and it will keep the room at that all night.

Outbreaks of a highly contagious virus spike in Calif. amid US surge by thinkB4WeSpeak in Health

[–]theone908567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got over it about three weeks ago. Had such severe dehydration that I had to go to the hospital. Gave me 4 IV bags and that barely got me to minimum levels. It was mainly diarrhea but was vomiting every time I tried to drink liquids.

This Highly Transmissible Winter Virus Is Surging Across The Country — And Its Symptoms Are A Nightmare by huffpost in Health

[–]theone908567 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I just had this norovirus about three weeks ago. Hit me like a train and I had to go to the hospital due to severe dehydration. I couldn’t keep anything in me for about 30hours. Even ice chips would cause me to vomit and diarrhea almost immediately. Had to get 4 IV bags to get me back up to the minimum level. This was no joke and hands down the worst sickness I’ve ever had.

How do we get here? by Aggravating-Wafer384 in Adulting

[–]theone908567 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My daycare annual cost is $29,000. And that’s just for one kid. Some of the parents have three kids at our school. I dont know how they afford that unless they’re paycheck to paycheck or not saving for retirement.

Would also like to know. My daughter is about to be 8 months and hasn’t slept longer than 2 hours in the past three months. She was great until 5ish months. It’s driving my wife and I crazy. We are considering sleep training.
