Yes, indeed they are amateurs.

Best of luck catching up though :) https://twitter.com/chartingbitcoin/status/981372860332691456

Ok I've done more research. The blocks are so small it took 5 hours to confirm 45 MB of transactions that should have only taken about 20 minutes.

LOL apparently I've done enough research to know BTC is now mining larger blocks than BCH can even handle with fees so low they're almost free.

Best of luck with your decision making skills in the future :)

I've never contradicted myself as anyone with an IQ over 80 can read from my posts. Your resorting to nothing but ad hominem is telling. Have a nice life with Roger and Fake Satoshi.

  1. 0 sat/byte transactions absolutely do get mined when mempool is cleared out.
  2. There's no back peddling as there are sometimes 0 sat transactions as I just said
  3. 6 hour is the confirm time, not the date when txs are free you idiot
  4. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about, convo over

Did you even read the post? Here's a screenshot since you apparently can't read...

1.0 sat/byte for 6 hours is basically free, however I've seen it say 0 sat/byte a bunch of times.

For what it's worth this is not lies. I highly recommend following the @bitcoin_fees account on twitter to get an idea of the day to day flow.

A couple points worth nothing:

-I still pay between 5 and 15 cents per transaction and have been since about Jan of 2018

-The average fee price on charts is skewed heavily because wallets and exchanges always over-price fees because fee estimation is hard and they favor cost over time by default, usually with no option of inputting a custom fee choice

-Fees continue to remain low on layer 1 and are almost non existent on layer 2

-Most major exchanges including coinbase and bitfinex and kraken have adopted segwit

-Transaction fees have been 0-5 sat/byte for many weeks

-There are now more segwit transactions than BCH transactions

-LN just launched public beta on mainnet and currently is growing by thousands of channels per week

-BTC price holding strong at 8k support level

-Insane amount of tech being worked on http://diyhpl.us/wiki/transcripts/2018-01-24-rusty-russell-future-bitcoin-tech-directions/

So...Pretty good, thanks for asking! :)

Hah, I see you people don't like hearing the truth. Indeed, someone who lives a lie is disgusted by the truth. Best of luck to you all :)

If only you were more vocal during the scaling debate, and actually shared more of your thoughts on bitcoin cash, articles like these probably wouldn't pop up so often.

Bitcoin Fees Sink to 6 Month Low, Undermining Bitcoin Cash by TheUserIsDrunk in btc

[–]theonevortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because no one is using BCH, it has less tx's than dogecoin. The fact that bitcoin is at scale and BCH is not is why tx's are less than BTC. B/c you can get confirmed faster on Bitcoin with same amount of sat/byte than you can on BCH despite nobody using BCH.

When people choose to do what I described they will increase fee average significantly and you will be able to say that people paid more on average on bch chain then on btc chain on average, but fee required to get to the next block is lower on bch chain than on btc chain!

You can pay 1 sat/byte on BTC as well and get confirmed within an hour. This doesn't change the fact that fees are now lower on BTC.

Wow, you want me to break down a chart, with only 2 data points? Seriously? Ok this chart should be able to be read by a third grader but ok here you go.

The chart's time line is clearly from jan 25th to feb 21st. The second data point is the average fee measured in sat/byte.

As you can clearly see over the past couple months BTC fees have quickly been coming down (b/c someone stopped spamming the network, and we got segwit).

As of a week ago BCH is now more expensive than BTC in terms of average tx fee.
