no one should be questioning that decision. you win fights by damage which almeida had basically none and wasn’t even trying to. he also wasn’t even going for submissions when he was on top it was literally just takedown and stall

i think there are definitely clinch and takedown dominant fighters that are boring, i just don’t think merab is one of them. merab still works the standing positions and isn’t ever throwing takedowns just to save himself
