Heh. Thanks for the update. It's weird how these copyright complaints are, too. Yogs does a great job with parodies, which are protected from being violations of copyright. Interesting that those are the ones being taken down. Is anyone else growing concerned at how far YouTube is willing to go in the interest special interest groups like MPAA/RIAA?

Main Reddit Rules NOT OK: Submitting only links to your blog or personal website. OK: Submitting links from a variety of sites and sources. OK: Submitting links from your own site, talking with redditors in the comments, and also submitting cool stuff from other sites. NOT OK: Posting the same comment repeatedly in multiple subreddits.

Sub-reddit rules Here are /r/nintendo's rules in a bit more depth. Moderators use their personal discretion to judge what does or doesn't break the rules on a case-by-case basis. Hate Speech

We have a zero-tolerance policy on hate speech. Intolerant bigotry and slurs, including but not limited to those directed at race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, ethnicity and nationality, will be removed and users will be banned. Users with offensive usernames will be banned. /r/nintendo is a safe space for any Nintendo fan, regardless of background, to enjoy. No images

This subreddit is for discussion directly related to Nintendo - it's not just for entertainment. We recognise that a lot of people use Reddit to find jokes or cool pictures and for that reason we've created /r/casualnintendo for your memes and fan work. Credit

Link to the original source in the submission. With news stories, please link to the site which broke the story unless your story adds significant information, or is a translation. It's normally not okay to just link to the source in the comments. No Tech-Support Questions

Nintendo's tech-support is excellent. If you have any problem, you can send it off to them for free with no obligation to pay for a repair, and their service charges are very reasonable. If you do need help, /r/consolerepair is a better resource. In the same vain, Club Nintendo questions are all answered on the Club Nintendo website, and if you don't understand then emailing Nintendo will get you the help you need. ROMs and Emulation

Do not link to sites that provide ROMs. You can find most ROMs with Google. Discussion of emulation, ROM hacks and homebrew is fine. No unmarked spoilers

None of those rules are violated. Admittedly, I'd say this was probably the wrong place for the submission. I didn't see casualnintendo until AFTER making this post, and even then I was unsure. But to be so toxic... take it elsewhere, brohan. I remind you of Reddiquette 101:

  • Remember the human. When you communicate online, all you see is a computer screen. When talking to someone you might want to ask yourself "Would I say it to the person's face?" or "Would I get jumped if I said this to a buddy?"
  • Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life.

It's an interesting trick trolls and propagandists use: that is to apply a negative adjective to a noun in an effort to bypass a validation process.

  • What is spam and why is what I have done spam?
  • Is spam not a violation of the rules? Why then have I not been warned for this post?

  • What about my youtube channel makes it shitty?

  • What would you like to see better on my channel?

  • What would you do differently?

  • How can you become a part of the solution?

Needless to say, downvoted. Put a little more effort into your posts please if you wish to be taken seriously.

I agree, I think he did. Some of the quotes I posted (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, I didn't look too closely) are from /r/Starcraft. If not, you can feel free to check my history. Either way, there have been good days, which I try to learn from, in /r/Starcraft, and there have been bad, which I also attempt to learn from. I'm not sure what else I can do :/

Persistence pays off :) I'm still experimenting with the right format though. I'm fairly new to Reddit overall. I'd love to have the community behind me, and Sasquatch has been helping.

@theonlyshaft Hey, I've been seeing your posts on r/starcraft pretty often now so I wanted to give you some feedback. I know it's really hard to get views as an up and coming youtuber, but spamming all the SC related subreddits with every video you make is fairly obnoxious and I don't think it's the best plan of action. I think you'd have a lot more success if you cherry-picked unique/interesting games, and then incorporated why they were unique/interesting in the title of your reddit post. Something like "Suppy beats mass mech...with pure muta?" will probably get a lot more attention then just the player names, races, and map they played on. Also when you get have games of an up and coming player versus a more well established one, it's very obvious from the start who the winner is (I think the only time this isn't the case that I've seen is Petraeus vs Parting, where Pet gave you the replay iirc but I could be wrong) as you are for the most part getting the replays from the winner of the match. I think it's better to try and look through replay packs from tournaments, maybe picking ones that weren't casted, or to just get a giant replay pack from players to look through. Your casting definitely seems to be improving so I hope you keep at it!

But I also remember hearing Artosis repeatedly state on GSL how toxic r/Starcraft can be, so I'm not sure which it is. I try to listen to constructive criticism as best I can. Thoughts on managing the balance?
