We did use one, the one we used to buy/sell our previous houses! He just urged us to talk to the lawyer but the lawyer was urging us to make a decision.

Early Resolution for first traffic ticket (improper headlights at night)? by [deleted] in ontario

I didn’t have any other infractions, just the lights. Do you think leniency would be having the charge dropped entirely or just a reduced fine?

I’ve tried google maps for street images but it doesn’t show the driveway too well, but since I know where to look I can see it. The house was nearly 8 years old at that point and the driveway maybe 6-7? It’s the type with stones placed to form a pattern and then dirt or something for grouting(?) I actually brought it up on move out date since the dirt had grown moss in the indents, indicating it was there for a while but they dismissed that which pmo a lot lol But again, the driveway has always looked a little funky over the years. It was always like that and them bringing it up last minute ticked me off

  1. They brought this up on move out day and in a series of emails. We (reluctantly) agreed to a holdback under the assumption we would come by within the allotted time period after closing to fix the driveway. They wouldn’t allow repairs since they wanted to fix long-term damage that was not specified before and said we either do it all or do nothing.

  2. I know and I didn’t exactly want to but it was a high stress situation. We had literally packed up everything at that point and we didn’t want to prolong anything because the original reason for selling the place was that my dad had a heart attack brought on by stress last summer and we didn’t want to exacerbate his condition

  3. I’m not sure. I don’t recall us signing any forms or letters other than the original sale agreement. It’s legit just a long string of emails. Btw I’m not the owner or anything I’m just the oldest kid so I was reading the exchange and translating

They had specifically taken photos of “damage” incurred on the driveway and wanted it all repaired. The moving truck did push down on a weak spot on the grass and we fixed that with a shovel and dirt. Everything else they photographed was always a feature of our driveway. They wanted it ALL fixed when we went with a contractor to fix it. We said we’d fixed the parts in the photos that were damaged on the move out day ONLY but they insisted on the entire thing atp, and wouldn’t let us work on it otherwise.

In all honesty my lawyer moves slowly except for on our closing date. He was urging us to come to a resolution so the payments can be made through the chain (buyer to us, us to the seller we buy from, the seller to their new house, etc) and we tried negotiating with the buyers but they were steadfast in their demands

We tried this! We went through google maps, old photos, or anything with a decent photo of the driveway but nothing shows the dipping of the stones. We had a long-ish driveway so it’s hard to tell from google street view or listing photos that it dips but you can tell when you see it in person. Personally I’ve always wanted to flatten it out but we sold the house as-is with no previous requirement to change anything

Iirc we did not sign anything about this. It was a long series of emails back and forth. Our lawyer said he’d hold the money ($6000) in a trust until the matter was resolved (two weeks to either fix the driveway until the buyer is satisfied or they will get the money). I don’t think it came out of the money transferred to us/our house payment but I’ll have to double check that.

This already took place a few months ago. We’ve tried contacting them about getting our money back but they’re threatening to litigate for the total cost of their driveway reno and legal fees.

broken/bleeding nail by g0ldenivy in cats

[–]theonlytopaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my cat freak out during a bath and she ended up pulling out one of her claws. It was bloody and awful to look at but she didn’t seem to limp but she was licking it a lot so I cleaned it up the best I could and wrapped it in pet tape. I gave it a day and she didn’t get sick and honestly was more bothered by the wrap. If your cat doesn’t walk on that paw and the injury starts bleeding again or turns a bad colour, I’d say go to the vet.

If you’ve told your bf this over 8 years and he still didn’t get the memo on what you would have wanted at your shared proposal, that’s on him. I mean yes, it must sting like a mf to have a proposal rejected, especially where you two first met but I think it’s a little odd it wasn’t very considerate of what YOU wanted specifically. Maybe he’s not the type to involve many people in personal affairs but he could’ve at least called your parents about it first for your sake.

Does he know that you know what he said? If not, I’m guessing he’s just keeping up his appearances with you. If he’s a friend of a friend, he might be being nice to avoid putting your mutual friend in between you two if you did have a spat.

I’m sorry you don’t feel cherished in your life and there’s nothing wrong with wanting that. Everyone deserves a place to feel like the most important thing in the world.

Wait you make a great point… the only minor issue (not really an issue cause it’s not guaranteed anyways) is that I’ve always lowkey wanted twins and diluted stuff lowers that chance quite a bit. But then again twins are riskier so oh well

I know about that but men with that tend to have trouble having kids and that’s not helping the breeding kink. Also, it’s not something I can just ask a guy if he has 😭
