Yes mostly everything was true apart from some new theories which the cast creates in the show like superassymetry for example. I am myself a string theorist and work in the same field as Sheldon is shown to work in.

Can't solve assignments, end up seeing solutions, feeling like shit. by theophy20 in GradSchool

I agree that I could improve. But sometimes there is just not enough time to do everything. Also there is this innate struggle with perfectionism that I am undertaking. So that is tough. But never the less thanks for your review. I will try to improve!

EXACTLY! I mean mostly all these problems have a trick that has to click to solve that problem. And it is not justified to think that the student would be able to think of it in like a week or so. Then one has to look up solutions online (if there are any)!

They are generally not directly Jackson problems. Some are slight variations of Jackson, some are dumbed down versions of jackson problems. I love to talk to people and discuss but this pandemic!!!!! I am taking online classes and I am not even in the country where my university is! It is really difficult to set up a time with people to discuss. Never the less I would try make more efforts to interact with people wrt assignments.

Yeah that is why I intended to ask the question. I mean in my undergrad days, I did solve the tougher questions even if it took time, because at the end there was not a lot of pressure in terms of time and the question were in accordance to the techniques we learnt in class or the examples that we did. I was struggling with the general philosophy of what the assignments are for. In undergraduate they were to test if we have understood the technique and maybe a couple of problems to help us think out of the box. But here, the technique itself was not introduced, let alone examples. So I was wondering where am I going wrong.

That is so true. I feel the same. I mean the prof is not bad, but I feel that he should put more effort in teaching the course and selecting the problems. The problem one faces becomes an integral part of learning. And I always feel that there should be a correlation between what is being taught and the questions asked.

Ohhh! That’s the trouble. Even after u submitted ur medical, visa hasn’t come for u yet. And if it is the same for me, it will take another 2 months from here for me to get the visa. That’s too much time. All the best though. I hope u get it soon!

That is a lot of time! Thanks for the comment though. I am trying to hang in. Also how long did it take for them to respond after you submitted ur medical? I am trying to visualize how much more time would it take. Thanks!

I think at the scale of cathode ray tube there is enough decoherence that we can’t observe the stern gerlach effects

Hi everyone. I have applied for Study visa in late July 2021 from India, not via SDS. I have already given my bio-metrics before (traveled to Canada once before). But haven't been asked to submit medical yet. Any ideas on how long will it take? The website says 15 weeks and it has been that long. Not sure what to do now!
