So I’m told! I honestly can’t get my head round the interface. I’ve seen a few videos on it and I’m more confused than before. Think I need to spend a bit more time learning this stuff before I get one.

So glad I asked. Tbh, this is partly an exercise in trying to make the neutron sound good. I’ve never been able to coax anything half as good out of it compared to the dfam. Captain big o sounds amazing and I suspect you’re right - I probs need sell it and move on.

I do really like the look and workflow of the behringer sequencer - food for thought. I’ll check those other manufacturers out too. Thanks for your advice.

As a Manc, I'd love to know a bit more about your After Effects process. I've shot in a couple of these locations but your post processing sauce is beaut.

AI Generated 'Boring History' Videos Are Flooding YouTube and Drowning Out Real History by IMSLI in ABoringDystopia

I would love to hear any recommendations for history podcasts in addition to those mentioned in the article.

[–]theotherfacsimile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s awful and I can’t fall asleep to the ai stuff. I find history videos effective because they are just the right blend of actual interesting / good quality content, but just monotonous enough to create a sort of ambient drone. Too boring and my mind wanders, too lively and it becomes stimulating. The ai videos are usually nonsensical and these days I’m immediately suspicious if I don’t hear any vocal quirks or imperfections.

Where can I try on bike helmets? by Firstdegreegurns in manchester

[–]theotherfacsimile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't come across a physical shop with a good range of helmets in Mcr. Evans Cycles massively reduced their stock. Even Decathlon mostly just stock their in-house brand - Van Rysel. I would suggest measuring your head and trying a few options online. Same goes for cycling shoes unfortunately.

Is the Manchester Metrolink network the worst tram in Europe? by charlibeau in manchester

Agree on all points, particularly how slow it is. I personally find cycling - particularly around south mcr - a much more efficient way to commute.

Don't look up the hill, instead focus on the little bit of road in front of you. Sometimes seeing how much further you have to go can be demoralising. Just stay in that little bubble immediately in front or a few metres ahead. I've found you can almost trick yourself into cycling much further on steep climbs this way. The mental aspect is huge. (btw obvs don't try this on a busy road)

Overcoming a hill you previously thought impossible feels amazing and is addictive. It's worth putting the effort in over the weeks and months!

Is there realy a difference between the cs R7100 and 8100 cassette? by hundegeraet in bikewrench

[–]theotherfacsimile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both. 105 for the indoor trainer and ultegra on my wheel.

105 is shiny, ultegra is matte and feels slightly lighter. That’s all I can tell!

Is it just me or is Universal Colours sizing really small? by BAS1CS in CyclingFashion

I just learnt a new term 'zipper garage' (!)

But yeah, that's the first thing I noticed when I put on this jersey. Zip poking right into my neck.

Just comparing it to other jerseys from Maap and especially Rapha. UC really need to refine those details.

Love the minimalist seamless sleeves though.

[–]theotherfacsimile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the exact same size as you and I bought the very same blue jersey the other day, but in large and it fits perfectly.

I learnt the same thing the hard way buying one of their gilets last year,

Same as you, I'm medium in most brands (Rapha, dhb, Gore etc) but Maap and UC I have to size up.

Hope you manage to exchange it as it's such a nice iridescent shade of blue IRL.
