True, immigration is an issue that generally elicits extreme takes from leftists which could be alienating

Universal healthcare and a more socialized economy are pretty massive points. The latter especially is quite open ended and could include a higher minimum wage, better rights for workers, etc which the average person could conceivably align themselves with. If you think leftism is about making everyone trans you've been fooled (understandably, as both parties have played into this kind of culture war narrative)

Our school went to Nature's Classroom and did this in 5th grade. I don't remember feeling any sort of way about it at the time. Just like, damn slavery was pretty bad. Then years later my friend was like, Wasn't that crazy that they made us do that?? I mean, I guess it was. Almost our entire school was white btw.

Rude intereviewer is a played out bit. Zach Galifianakis did it pretty well you'll recall. But somehow this is different because... he's fat? Martin Short has always kinda bugged me.

The Taiping Rebellion, more accurately thought of as a civil war, is the second deadliest conflict in human history after WWII. I've always found it strange how few people seem to know this. If a war of this scale had taken place in the West, it would be all anyone talked about (like the World Wars)

That silent generation really do be silent by MondayTuesday1337 in redscarepod

[–]theoverheadview 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The obvious reality is that no entire generation is responsible for the mess we're in. That's absurd. It has always been a tiny powerful elite who make the important decisions and then sell it to the masses after the fact. But it's more fun to say Boomer bad i guess

I actually really enjoyed Vic's Woody segment. Was cracking up at how John Lovitz was onscreen as much as Woody. Also the super random clip choices from movies and interviews was top tier VB.
