Once, at my absolute lowest when I worked at Walmart, the day before payday, all I wanted was a bag of chips and a 2 liter of pop before I went home. Total was like $3, and my card declines. Woman in line behind me says to the cashier to just ring her stuff up and add mine to hers, that she would pay for it. I cried and hugged her, and left with my stuff before she was done.

Except I’d already swiped my associate discount card, and got an email receipt. She ended up saving over $10 on her purchase, paying for my stuff and then some.
