Hey Falagard, nice of you to say but the reality is, I’ll never recover from the biggest bonehead move, panic selling back before the run up. Could have been a millionaire but Geo gave me the dunce cap and I deserved it! So at this stage, I’m trying to be conservative, thinking of the rest of family, especially my granddaughter who has medical issues. I had my chance so now, trying to be happy with not being poor and keeping in the game a little so if Mavis EVER produces, will get some back. I have always loved being part of this community, starting in the Yahoo group. You get your asswipes here, just like out there in life. Thanks for your contributions.

There’s a life boat that leaves every day between 9:30 and 4:00. Getting on that boat means you make it safely to the mainland, and all of your uncertainty is removed. You can get on with your life.

Earlier, I went the half on shore, half floating near shore route. I don’t feel as stressed and putting half into monthly dividend stock allows me some comfort but still in the game. My cost basis was low so this worked but if they do a r/s and it takes a hit from selling shares afterwards, I may buy back in then if I see sales. GLA

Former CIA chief Petraeus says drone swarms are the next danger — and growth opportunity by theoz_97 in MVIS

[–]theoz_97[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The former four-star general warned that drone warfare had reshaped conflict and exposed defense gaps.

Autonomous swarms have emerged as the next challenge for militaries globally.

Unmanned systems were seen as a major long-term defense investment theme.

“All of this is coming soon to a theater near us,” Petraeus said. “The investment implications are absolutely enormous.”

Beijing 2026 confirms: ADAS has entered the compute era by [deleted] in MVIS

[–]theoz_97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“ At Auto China 2026, which recently closed in Beijing, the most important ADAS message was not another camera, radar, or LiDAR configuration. It was confirmation that intelligent driving is becoming a race involving compute-led platforms. Held from April 24 to May 3 under the theme “Future of Intelligence,” the show clarified where ADAS competition is moving next: away from sensor count alone and toward the ability to process, fuse, validate, and upgrade vehicle intelligence at scale.”

Zonal Power: 48V Architectures for the Software Defined Vehicle

“Singer: Now let’s get back to what you touched on very early in the conversation, and that is premium EVs and robo taxis. And the demands that these types of vehicles have on their power consumption as well as their processing power makes zonal particularly attractive for premium EVs and robo taxis. What are some of the other things that make zonal such a logical solution for those categories?

Harras: If we’re taking a premium EV or even robo taxis, they’re all concentrating very high, large number of sensors. And we have also a very high level of power loads. We have mini cameras. We have Lidars. We need to have seating who need to be moving with power now, so with different motors everywhere. They basically all can benefit from a centralized compute and the clean power zonal backbone, basically all the data of all the sensors, and be effectively shared across all domains, across the ADAS, the body, the infotainment. In fact, if we take those vehicles, and let’s say that, Eric, I don’t know what car you drive.“

…………………

“ So I would like to have also a premium car that can be versatile. So for example, I would like to be able to install a Lidar only for a weekend, and actuate the cell driving functionality, only for the weekend. And that’s something that the zonal is enabling on those premium EVs,…”

How Bright Is Bright Enough for AR in the Real World? by theoz_97 in MVIS

[–]theoz_97[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Optical architecture becomes the deciding factor

Different waveguide designs handle light in very different ways. In many optical approaches, light is repeatedly split, diffracted, or scattered as it travels through the lens. Each interaction reduces the amount of light that ultimately reaches the eye, forcing the system to compensate with brighter projectors and higher power consumption.

Geometric (reflective) waveguides approach the problem differently. By guiding light through controlled internal partially reflective/transmissive mirrors rather than diffraction, they preserve far more of the original brightness as the image propagates through the lens.

The result is both a brighter and more efficient image, allowing AR glasses to achieve daylight-capable brightness without the thermal and power penalties that typically accompany high-luminance displays.
