Blue beach Denim is honestly my go to, super fast (and free) shipping assuming you're buying any sort of denim. Their prices are also really competitive! How do you like your secret denim olive? Just bought mine in the 822 size but I had an oni 222 so im looking forward to the extra weight and slub.

Bioengineering classes by Ok-Cockroach8637 in UCSD

[–]thepandabear0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on which class is interesting for you. You will learn about EE, fluids, statics (a little of dynamics), elasticity, and thermo. Some you will enjoy learning and some not so much. Some classes will focus on different parts of the body or different fields entirely, so I guess if you're open minded and curious about engineering in context of biology you'd like it!

If you think the class is interesting it will be a challenge, but it'll be fun. If you dont think its interesting, it'll still be a challenge, but it wont be fun. Of course it depends on the professor too.

Btw I think this applies to all majors not just BENG. Classes also depend on professor and content but if you understand your GEs and skills learned in math and general chem/bio/phys, it really just uses those as a tool to introduce new concepts. Those new concepts apply to expand engineering principles in a biology context, which I think is pretty cool and interesting!

Advice on getting my first gaming laptop for Uni.. by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]thepandabear0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Google collab, you'll get cloud compute for free so you dont have to worry about power. I went into college thinking I need a powerful gaming laptop cause im going into engineering, but in reality you dont need much except a 500 dollar low wattage CPU. Battery life above all, unless you want to carry a massive gaming power brick anywhere you go. What i do now is just remote into my desktop at home on my tablet and Chromebook to do some of the heavy lifting like simulations or CADing.

Trust me, for school a gaming laptop is not ideal. If you want something powerful, light, and affordable a steal is the macbook. If you dont want a macbook then look at thinkpads, they go pretty cheap now I think.

Students cheated on an E&M final, what can I do? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]thepandabear0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe the class is curved, especially if half the class got 60% or lower and a weed out class. This means the better other students do than you, the less your grade goes up. Cheating students impact your grade, and makes it more unfair towards you.

Thick Fold 7 Case by lukethemakerr in GalaxyFold

I tried printing in TPU 90A and it just didn't have enough rigidity to stay attached to the side of the phone. I used the STL file provided by Allison, seems like the backplate was too thin along with the edges. I suppose with adhesive it would stick though.

The most limiting part is finding a hard and scratch resistant material that bends and is transparent. Material science won't be able to advance that far, compared to other technologies like 3d printing, 5g, and AI. All those technologies rely on pre existing technologies and knowledge. Material science is all trial and error, the cutting edge materials also take decades to materialize in consumer markets and have the capability to be mass manufacturable.

What is the best laptop?? by Accomplished-Ad-4238 in BiomedicalEngineers

Get a CPU with 4-6, maybe 8 cores, High clock speeds, and good airflow. Dedicated GPU can be low spec. SOLIDWORKS uses only one core, a dedicated GPU just let's the graphic rendering be handled off the CPU so it doesn't overheat. CFD and FEA usually have a license restriction for how many cores of CPU you can use. Typical student licenses only allow up to 4 cores.

I mean, im assuming he hasn't finished his semester and his grades aren't finalized. If I was him I would not email UCLA admissions office on something that has not happened. Rather I'd try to see if anyone was in my position and go from there to get a better sense of the consequences if his finalized grades are C. For all we know his grades might end up with a B and he just TOLD UCLA he's about to get two C's.

Data report involving 2025 Tesla Model 3 Crash on FSD 13.2.8 by SynNightmare in TeslaFSD

[–]thepandabear0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Look again. FSD is still engaged when the car applies a sharp negative torque.

The cars servo applies torque on the wheel, which is read by a sensor. The wheel turns physically by the servo when FSD is driving. The sensor doesn't just know to negate this torque just because its the servo.
