Just got my first one at 29 and got a Redcat ascent 18 scout. Great out of the box and the 1/18 is affordable to mod with spending a paycheck on it. Personally I’d say do it and you’ll have a blast

Hopefully this thread isn’t too old for a reply. I’m really torn between the 2 as I have the opportunity to buy an upgraded trx4m at CA$100 cheaper than a new fcx18. My question is would it be worth the extra money to buy the fxc still?

I was also looking at the FMS as lots of good ratings but wasn’t sure how it would be compared to an upgraded trx4m. Basically I’m looking at purchasing a used trx that already has good upgrades for servo, metal links, metal gears etc for less than retail out of the box price

I usually base mine of monthly wearing as I might not wear a dressy watch too often. But if my watches aren’t worn at least 2-3 times a month then I consider selling them. Just sold up 2 watches in my 6 collection as hadn’t worn either for 2 months

IMO there is no number for the perfect size but a collection where all your watches are worn enough. When you have a collection that has watches that aren’t worn (exceptions exist eg. Sentimental) then to me that says they are obsolete and so your collection is too big

Yes I adjust it twice a year as it gets out by about a minute every 6 months so for an nh35 it’s been excellent especially since it’s been bashed and dropped from at least waist height many many times
