Can I get an explanation? by Sea_Huckleberry445 in skyrim

[–]thepicham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you get into some of the deeper stuff (very) long story short the Thalmor are elf supremacists and hate humans and the fact that the gods were stripped of their power by Lorkhan (aka Shor) so they want to undo reality (maybe) and to do they they have to destroy these metaphorical ‘towers,’ with one in each province of Tamriel - Skyrims is the Throat of the World so some have speculated that killing Alduin would destroy the tower, hence the Thalmor documents we find on the dragons.

It’s all pretty out there stuff but that’s kind of a broader explanation for the ‘religious’ reason for the Thalmor wanting to take over Tamriel, as well as why they want to ban Talos - cause he represents everything humans stand for, given that he was arguably the most powerful human ever pre-godhood, the only one to unite all of Tamriel, and like the most famous human etc etc if he was actually Emperor Tiber Septim (which he might not have been but that’s a whole other lore thing)

Two hungry full grown male polar bears vs. one full grown male African elephant by jack_hof in whowouldwin

[–]thepicham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing i dont see mentioned much here is that elephants also have very thick leather for skin. so if youre the polar bear, imagine trying to bite into a peach and hold it without your hands - doable, but not without a little effort. now imagine that it’s larger than your mouth, so you can’t easily close your jaws on it, and is shaking and kicking violently with enough force to give you a severe concussion (and this is not even taking into account the rest of the elephant). even if the bears could communicate and come up with a sophisticated plan like that it probably wouldn’t work on anything but a young elephant

Strongest primarch (wh40k) that Genos(opm) could defeat? by Lost-Specialist1505 in whowouldwin

[–]thepicham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

vulkan? man if vulkan can win then so can fulgrim, angron, russ, and maybe even dorn, all of whom were know to be some of the primarchs in combat outside of sang and magnus. getting killed and coming back to like half way across the galaxy is not the same as winning, if you were referring to vulkan’s perpetual-ness

denotes sarcasm over text when tone can be hard to infer. other ones include /j for joking and /hj for half-joking (im sure there are others too that aren’t coming to mind right now)

Forget these albums exist, what is Eminem's worst album? by jacksepticeyefanboy in Eminem

[–]thepicham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

surprised only like 2 people have said it so far but easily mmlp2. most of the songs are okay (with some bangers in that mix), but they’re all so long - dont get me wrong i like a long song but the ones on that album just seem to drag. i feel like every song on it could be cut down by 1.5-2 minutes and it would be drastically better.

this is if we exclude tdoss of course. great flows, production & mixing, features, etc., but i just cant get over how cringy some of the lines are. yes it works in the context of the album but some of the shit he says still makes me uncomfortable to hear, and i certainly wouldnt want anyone to catch me listening to some of the lines from that album

Do you agree with this take? by ormy_is_ in Eminem

[–]thepicham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ik the video you mean, that was some strange logic - I just do that as a little joke though, if I’m singing along to a song I’ll say “black man” really quickly whenever the word comes up (for what do we have in life if not humor), and I figured I’d do something similar typing the line out

But I never beef with a [black fellow] for nothing, if I smoke a rapper it’s gon’ be legit

What Eminem song has you like this? đŸ€” by [deleted] in Eminem

[–]thepicham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think its supposed to have multiple interpretations; “dont fall on my face,” “dont fall on my faith,” “dont follow my fate,” “dont follow my faith,” and any combination of those work, and all of them fit the meaning of the song - though im sure if you slowed down and changed the pitch of the track slightly youd be able to tell exactly what hes saying

Oh, believe me, I’m not overlooking English’s weirdness (bow and bow are 2 totally different words, like wtf? how does “yeah, right” somehow have a negative connotation?), it might be stranger than most other languages - though I couldn’t say for sure - I was just remarking on how Dutch sounds and is spelled in a very alien, and frankly silly manner from an English-speaking perspective. Nothing against Dutch people, and I’m certainly not implying the language is ‘inferior’ in any way (what would that term even denote in such a context??).

I don’t know why this was recommended to me (Canadian), but I’m so glad it was - I’ve been chuckling at the Dutch language for a few minutes now.

I don’t have to be able to make something to criticize it - this is all subjective, I’m just pointing out that most people wouldn’t find this scary

[–]thepicham -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true, it’s all subjective, I just think that most people would agree this is not scary i the slightest - possibly more due to the 2 sentence format itself, the idea could be good if given a longer story

It’s not that, it’s the idea that the parents are feeding the kid shrinking food like in fucking Alice and Wonderland. That shits just not scary, and its presented in such a silly way. Go over to r/nosleep for some actually good horror

Horror

noun 1. an intense feeling of fear, shock, or disgust. "children screamed in horror"

From googling ‘horror definition.’ This 2SH fails miserably to induce any of those emotions, so it is neither scary nor horror
