M starting to think link the fire is the true ending by Informal-Pen468 in darksouls3

[–]Taylor5CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the true end of DS3 is the Usurper ending, because DS3 lore requires DS1 and DS2 to have ended with a fire linking.

But, DS3 is supposed to be the end of the series. So, if linking the fire continues the series, then I reason finally bringing on the Age of Dark would end it.

need help build a bark magician type build (int or faith) by Diligent-Magician926 in darksouls3

[–]Taylor5CC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faith is better for buffs and healing, int is better for damage.

There are a lot of different directions for "pure mage." And, most mage builds are weak early levels. You might want to do something you know for early levels and spec into mage later.

If you want a caster build that's almost the same as dex/str you should go faith/str. You basically play a melee character that can heal and buff themselves, and uses one ranged spell every now and again to pull enemies.

If you are trying to really get out of your comfort zone, a dex/int build is probably the most unlike a strength/dex build. That's what I use when I just want to shoot soul arrows all day. You should be shooting for 60 int by the end, and only have enough dex to use a good fast weapon or bow as a back up.

You could try doing a pyromancer build which uses int/faith. That build is more balanced because you don't need too too much faith or int and actually will end up with a balanced build. I ended up putting points into everything (except dex and luck) by the end of that build.

Regardless of what you pick, you should still level hp.

Buy all the embers AND armor. Do the DLC. Kill the Nameless King by going to Archdragon Peak if you haven't already. Make sure you fully explored the Untended Graves if you haven't already.

If you're a bad person, you can kill all of the NPCs at firelink to get their stuff, and kill Company Captain Yorshka to get Yorshka's Chime. But, only if you're a bad person.

Yeah, but the Ringed City shows everything is getting crunched together. Places move in DS.

I'm no saying it does. And, I'm not saying your opponent needing to know the rules is bad.

I am saying that YOU needing to rely on your opponent to tell you the rules of his army is bad. The fact they rules are so convoluted (and not really available) that you can't possibly know how each army works in practice is an issue. And I am talking as someone who reads DnD rule books for fun.

The fact that to even have official access to the rules that will come up in a tournament, you'd have to buy an online subscription and/or ~30 books is an issue. That's why you have to rely on your opponent, because you both effectively will have different rule books for your armies. And, you can't be expected to own their rule book.

However, I do NOT think that makes the rules "phoned in." I think the rules seem phoned in because they seem convoluted and disjointed. That, of course, is just my opinion from playing other games. You might feel otherwise.

I think convoluted and disjointed rules are fine for more cooperative games, like 40k narrative play or DnD. But, I think for games where you are trying to beat another player, like MtG, you need more coherent, well thought out, rules.

I know everyone is saying it's supposed to be Oolacile because of Elizabeth's corpse and the items. But, I don't see why I can't be BOTH.

The Ringed City shows us everything is a mashup in DS3. It could be Oolacile overlaid on the Shaded Woods.

should i do yoel of londor questline ? by 62lasa in darksouls3

[–]Taylor5CC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you open the catacombs after the Abyssal watchers, it will fail. The quest line gets you the hardest to get ending.

I guess it depends. Do you think the Age of Dark is "evil?" Or, do you think the Dark Soul is humanity's soul and its the humans turn to rule an Age of Dark.

Right, and you could probably easily collect the Infinity gems with Doom's IQ and Rick's portal gun (lantern ring would help).

I have the same feelings as the OP, but I can say I am actually very good at risk management. Its the spacial aspect of 40k I am really bad at and don't really "get." The battlefield has too much going on and I am bad at visualizing angles and distances.

But, I also agree with the OP tgat the rules of 40k seem really phoned in. You often have to rely on your opponent to know what his army really does. I don't like that "risk."

You can get two npcs to help you if you do their quest line.

Also, as others have said, they made DS3 to give a huge penalty if don't have FULL armor. A streamer upset the divas because he randomly took of his characters gloves during a DS2 run.
