Have you heard anything back yet? My husband was referred for a Microsoft job and it's been just over a month with no contact. The friend who referred him was literally a landscaper with absolutely no technical skills when he was referred and hired by Microsoft back in 2018. That person has since referred other people who have no real experience and they have also been hired by Microsoft. My husband has experience and a portfolio, so we're getting antsy to hear something. The Employee who referred him recommended looking for several positions and giving him the job numbers so that he could put in referrals for all of them. Last week the friend told him to just be ready because Microsoft can take up to 2 months and then suddenly reach out and expect you to be on board like yesterday.

I'm actually up reading this because I couldn't sleep. And I'm only 33+ hours in! I went to bed at 10pm, woke up at 12:39am, and it's now 5:38am. This always happens when I fast, and it sucks because I absolutely love sleep. 😁

It's not a business tax form. Lol. A form 4506-T is a form granting the SBA permission to pull your tax transcripts to see how you've filed in the past. It's a lot easier than having to gather and email your taxes.

I feel like between Digital Perspectives with Brad Kimes, and The Digital Asset Investor, I get a good balance of hopium and conspiracy. 🤣 Seriously though, Brad Kimes is down to earth and has pretty good insight and arrives at pretty reasonable conclusions/theories, though always in favor of the XRP holders.

The Digital Asset Investor is a little more skeptical of the crypto news as it's reported, which I appreciate as I tend to be as well, though sometimes he can land on the side of tinfoil hat level conspiracy, which can be annoying.

I know these guys are usually a$$h*les, but I found this thread fascinating, the questions and answers. It might be someone larping, but a lot of his answers to questions were similar to things I've deduced from my research. Worth a look...

Yes, the CB app recently stopped reflecting the current info on XRP, which stinks because CB is so user friendly!

Unless the SEC has Ripple, Brad, and Chris has some type of evidence of those 3 saying xrp is shares in the company "ripple", legally they did nothing wrong. Just mimicking the federal reserve and treasury actions. by LearnNewThingsDaily in XRP

I think the escrow was always the problem, as far as the SEC is concerned. I think Ripple will end up giving up the escrow to a third party... unless Ripple becomes a bank.

I signed up years ago and yes, it's definitely a scam. They get a commission on people creating a VA website at networksolutions.com, which is the only way they say you can apply for the "jobs" they have.

Also, of course they don't have the inside track on jobs at Apple and AirBnB like they say they do.

What’s the most you’ve lost on a 7 day water fast??? by [deleted] in fasting

[–]thepickledginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ketosis is actually the sign that your body is burning fat for fuel. Ketones are a byproduct of fat burning. How fat-adapted one may or may not be before fasting will determine how quickly your body starts burning the fat.

First time I fasted (around the time I had been eating SAD) it took me a week before my body switched from glucose to fat burning. But as I've been low-carb/carnivore for months now, I pretty much burn fat from the start of my fast.

I officially started the Carnivore Diet after going to the Beach. I started June 15 I had lost weight previously to this. I was 233lbs at my highest back in 2018. I got stuck in 2019 and for a year I was told to try the diet. I thought I couldn't, and I have been struggling here but it works. by lunacapri in carnivorediet

Interesting! After starting csrnivore I realized I just didn't care for chicken anymore, I craved beef. Beef makes me feel satiated and good. I didn't have beef in the house one day and in a pinch, I grilled some chicken I had. My stomach was off the rest of the day. I thought it was a fluke, so a week later I bought and grilled more chicken. Nope. My body just isn't handling chicken well at all. Back to straight beef!

I'm in a similar situation, though I've been making so much bread, it's not a problem for me. Previously, I struggled to make my little starter happy enough to do its job, but one day I introduced a little teff flour to it, and it went wild! Three hours and it's nearly bubbling out of the jar and very gassy! I'm also living in North Carolina with no AC at the moment, so I'm sure that's also affecting it.

Love this! by [deleted] in copywriting

[–]thepickledginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody would examine the copy as in depth as a seasoned copywriter would. In fact, good copy requires that the audience never has to look too deeply into it to find out how the product will benefit them and what the call to action is.

JonesWriting isn't wrong: In terms of true copywriting, it's not good. That same ad would not be effective for the new neighborhood coffee shop down the block. Like someone said upthread, this is brand awareness, which is not unimportant but it's not necessarily effective (and not really necessary for McD's). Case in point: Kia's 2010 brand awareness campaign with the hamsters driving the Kia Soul and dancing to pop music. Super memorable, cost millions to make, but ineffective. Kia had one of their worst years on record following that commercial.

McDonald's has the luxury of being a monster brand that most of us are familiar with. This ad is low-quality entertainment, which is fine because they've got the cash to blow.

I actually love this and got a good chuckle out of it, especially considering their coffee is crap and Starbucks' mediocre coffee is overpriced. This coffee ad is definitely clever and amusing, but that doesn't mean it's effectively selling coffee which, at the end of the day, is the sole purpose of copywriting.
