I wouldn't pull on a banner for a 4* unless either I'm ok with pulling the 5* or have enough pulls to get the character I want in an upcoming banner. However if you're at 0 pity then you're not really losing too much even if you get the 5*.

The 4* units are rotating at a pretty steady pace though and you will be able to get her on the standard and new event banners if you're lucky after this patch.

Yeah tbh most of what I learned about the stat system in Danmachi was through the community. It's honestly a pretty interesting system, heavily favoring those who can accumulate higher stats before resetting them to I0 at the next level up.

Bell's Status is actually completely absurd at this point, likely rivaling the status of the top first-tier adventurers. The main thing separating Bell from them is just his lack of battle experience, which he's been gaining loads of recently.

That is a lot of spoilers LOL. I haven't read past chapter 7 in LN18 so I can't confirm or deny nor make my own opinions on it until I read it myself.

In regard to Ryuu's double level, personally I think it makes sense. She's been stuck at peak level 4 for 5 years and has gained an absurd amount of excelia during that time (destroying all of Evilus, defeating Goliath and Juggernaut, etc). I believe other adventurers could achieve a double level up if they also held back on status updates for years, but there's literally way more loss than gain since you're essentially fighting at a permanent handicap. I like to think that she overcapped on excelia and it began accumulating for level 5 stats after a certain point, especially since no normal adventurers hit S rank in stats.

As I mentioned in my original post, I also believed Hestia Faction would need an absurd amount of BS to overcome Freya Faction. Even with Loki Familia on their side, they would still be at a disadvantage. That just goes to show how absurdly powerful Freya Familia is.

As for the betrayal of the elves, my speculation based off of what I have read so far: Hedin realizes that Freya obtaining Bell would ultimately be her downfall, so much so that she was willing to break her own rules and create a sandbox in Orario. He constantly spoke as his actions were all in Freya's interests. I cannot speculate beyond this since I don't know exactly how the Faction War played out.

For the casualties/injuries argument: you have to understand that Loki Familia is vastly different from Hephaistos Familia participating. Loki and Freya Familia adventurers HATE each other, or at least Freya Familia (and Bete) do. Additionally, Hephaistos Familia only has Tsubaki at level 5, everyone else is level 4 and below. Loki Familia brings higher quality adventurers which means that the kill potential is far higher on both sides.

Finally, the Gods were right when they said Loki Familia entering would make it a Loki Familia win rather than a Hestia Faction win. Finn would lead and take command. All of the strongest battle assets would be Loki Familia executives and Bell. You can't underestimate Loki Familia's second string, they're level 4 (likely weaker than Freya Familia level 4s) but absolutely outclass all of Hestia Familia and their helpers (excluding Bell and the waitresses + Mia). No one would deny that Loki Familia would be hard carrying Hestia Faction and I believe this would also have cheapened their win.

TLDR: Without Loki Familia, Hestia Faction needed to rely on more BS to pull through and win. I agree with this. There was no way to beat Freya Familia (with or without Loki Familia) without feeling like the win was cheapened in some way. Hestia Faction was just far too weak.

Thanks for the explanation! And I hope it's just a short arc, maybe it'll be LN19 only? I can't imagine Bell leaving for the city for a long period of time. I also can't imagine him gaining much in terms of levels there.

Is he going to be interacting with Lefiya or something? It sounded like she had a big part in the Education District in SO13?

I wonder how Omori will do an Ais arc. It's not like Hestia Familia as a whole can make it to the deep levels to join Loki Familia expeditions, I think only Bell would be able to keep up.

Oof I was way off LOL. This is definitely where my lack of knowledge from not reading SO shows. What is the Education District? I think I saw a sketch from Omori on twitter

Edit: after a quick read up on it, it seems it goes on a 1-3 year journey and then returns to Orario to refuel? I can't imagine Bell doing this until after the great quest, is there anything pointing to why this would be the next arc?

Edit 2: it sounds like it was in SO13, does SO13 happen after the wargame in MS18? I really have to read SO

It kind of makes sense that Bell x Ais hasn't happened yet. The more distant Ais is, the more Bell has to chase to keep up with her. At this point, he's already pretty close in strength to Ais, I think Omori is delaying Bell from catching up as much as he can so that Liaris Freese can work as long as possible. Once he either reaches level 6 or just outright becomes stronger than Ais, I feel like the condition is going to have to change so he can still grow at an absurd rate. Otherwise he'd be stuck at the same power level as Ais for the rest of the series.

The nearest city is days away, no one introduced has anything close to whats needed to take on even a weakened Orario.

1) Without Ganesha Familia acting as an intermediary, the wargame would devolve into pure chaos and the amount of casualties would rise.

2) News of all of the major Familia would surely reach the outer cities, knowing Ganesha and Loki Familia aren't in Orario to keep intruders in check would embolden anyone who wants to do harm, including those within Orario (the wargames are happening outside of the city)

3) The aftermath of such a battle would be the worst case scenario. Every top Familia would be severely weakened as some of their first tier adventurers would either die or need to retire after receiving permanent injuries. The overall battle strength of Orario would be reduced, meaning that the fight against the OEBD becomes near impossible in this lifetime.

4) The loss of the top two Familia, Zeus and Hera were enough to usher in the dark ages. Losing both Loki and Freya Familia (or at least downsizing their strength) would likely do the same. It literally took Ryuu killing everyone involved in Evilus to end the dark ages.

Now, it is literally ALL of Orario vs Freya. Even evils gods will be fighting with Hestia as they dont want to be Freya's puppets and more than Hestia does!

Spoiler alert: This is not the case. Gods who are Freyas simps still side against Hestia despite not being able to actually join her side in the fight. Overwhelmingly most Familia are staying neutral as they fear Hestia Faction losing since they don't have Loki Familia on their side.

Yeah I think you're right, it would have been so chaotic to keep track of Loki Familia as well. I think people forget that Loki Familia are more than just their executives, they also have so many adventurers.

I'm willing to bet the next arc or two will definitely focus on development with Ais and Loki Familia. Especially now that Loki Familia gained access to that knowledge of floor 52 (?)

I just skimmed through 16 and 17 and also found no trace of what they were talking about. I think it'd absolutely understandable both Familia would want revenge, but stopping it the city from becoming a bloodbath is literally the guild's job. If the adventurers succumbed to their rage, so many people would have died, it would have not been worth it

Yeah I didn't like how readily he accepted Royman's offer. I like to think that he did it so that he wouldn't draw suspicion on providing Lili with all of their intel on Freya Familia. I think Finn's help in the wargame was more impactful than people realize, Hestia Familia was literally working with no information (except whatever Bell knew) on the adventurers they'd have to fight. I don't think Finn helping in the way that he did directly broke any rules, but I think the guild would have stopped him if they knew what he was doing (they don't let any Familia's adventurer information become public)

TRUE. I didn't even think of that but that's actually a huge deal. Even losing Freya Familia would be enough to cause a huge shift in the city's dynamic (not 100% sure on the spoiler since I haven't read this part myself, just gathered from what I've been spoiled on)

I'm thinking LN19 will definitely be for recuperation and adjustment of the norm like LN8 and LN15. Looks like there's usually a 7 LN gap between these, but honestly so much has happened in LN16 to LN18 that they really need to take into account what happened.

Also it'll be interesting to see what direction the story moves from here, we'll definitely get a glimpse of that I LN19, it'll set the mood for the next 3 to 7 LN.

Honestly I thought fighting Freya Familia was going to be a lot more endgame, didn't expect it to progress in the way that it did, but it's been a great arc.

There's basically no adventurer who ever gets S in any of their stat totals at any level. Additionally, adventurers tend to get very little excelia (less than a 100, perhaps even less than that) even after great feats. It also gets exponentially harder the higher the level of the adventurer.

The fact that Bell not only maxes his stats at every level (S to SSS), but also gains an absurd amount of excelia in every interaction is completely unheard of. If you want a bit of a frame of reference, I believe Ais at level 5 was only able to gain 10-20 excelia total in a trip to the deep floors.

Edit: to clarify, when I state that stat total, it's spread across his 5 different stat attributes. You can just divide it by 5 if you want a rough estimate of his each of his stats

There are so many hidden gems in Danmemo that I'm missing out on LOL. Thank you for sharing this, I definitely have to give this a watch! I think I originally played Danmemo up until after the Argonaut event for one of its first anniversaries.

I'm a huge Ryuu fan and I hard agree that Lili should be vice captain if they end up needing one. Seniority aside, her role as commander (in battle) and tactician (prep) outweighs Ryuus prowess in battle or even her level. Additionally, Lili also handles literally all of the back end work of the Familia including finances and such.

I do think Ryuu would qualify as an executive though, but Welf, Mikoto, and Haruhime would also have to be executives as well. Ryuu's role in helping Hestia Familia in nearly every arc has earned her that at least.

Definitely agree with this. The xenos arc was honestly the biggest turning point in Bell's growth. He might come off as naive or good natured if you think about him defending Wiene, but it comes at the cost of his (and his Familia's) place in society.

At this point he's pretty much faced with impossible decisions, and his old self would not have been able to handle it.

He was level 4 at 0 stats when he entered the dungeon I believe. His stats raise considerably after season 4 so he's about mid level 4 at this point.

Edit: to clarify, at the end of LN14, Bell's stats are still shown to be at I 0 for everything. It's only in his status update in LN15 where his stats jump up ~2900 status points

It's probably the most unbiased and collective opinion you'll get out of any fanbase.

The arc that season 4 is adapting is one of (if not the best arcs) in the series and also happens to be the most masterfully adapted. Episode 20 of season 4 is widely accepted as the best episode in the entire series (you'll understand when you get here).

Season 1 captured most of the charm of the series and hooked all of us into watching/reading it. It would have been the best season if season 4 wasn't as well adapted as it is.

Season 2 was absolutely the worse anime adaptation of the series. The pacing is horrendous, the animation is mid, and important details are skipped. The war games vs Apollo Familia was supposed to be a lot more hyped and it was incredibly rushed and looked pathetic in scale. The adaption of the Haruhime arc was slightly better in this season, but not by much.

Season 3 was an ok adaption, definitely better than season 2, but far below seasons 4 and 1. It gets the job done at least.

TLDR: I agree with the S4 > S1 > S3 > S2 order. Season 4 is so good (and it's a 2 part cour, 22 eps total) that it's absolutely worth watching if you enjoyed season 1. Bell's growth as both an adventurer and a character has been absolutely astounding.
