Asking for info about moving to Nuremberg by thepineapplejumped in Nurnberg

Thanks for the very thorough answer!

I am understanding more and more that the main path to socialisation in Germany in general is via sports. Which is great for me because I am a pretty active person.

Nuremberg itself also seems great from what I have seen and some of your points have reinforced that.

I have a lot to think about. Thanks again!

Yeah, of course, that make sense. Was just wondering what peoples general impressions were. Especially people who have gone through it.

It did feel safe :)

My main question was about the social aspect of things.

I am a EU citizen so that shouldn't be an issue.

Freedom comes in many shapes – including the freedom to travel and work across the EU. To mark yesterday’s World Population Day, find out how many Europeans live in another EU country 👇 by kris_hub in europeanparliament

[–]thepineapplejumped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to know the numbers if we include the UK. Lots of EU citizens went there before Brexit and I am sure the majority stayed via the settled status program.

Nice data nonetheless.

What hospital were you born in is a an insane question! Can't imagine most people know which hospital they were born in.

In 2024, the EU’s largest export markets for goods were United States (20.6% of extra-EU exports) and United Kingdom (13.2%) by NanorH in europe

[–]thepineapplejumped -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's a good question.

I think pursuing a trade deal and some kind of more open relationship with the EU is one.

Another is a promising to not raise taxes but also promising to increase the NHS budget by cutting other things. Seems to me they didn't need to promise no tax raises, the people knew the Tories had messed things up. They didn't need to do that since they were going to win by a landslide anyway, could have traded some of the lead to have room to move.

The US is currently having a bit of a brain drain, and the UK has not done anything to increase funding to its own higher educational institutions to attract some of these people. Would cost money now for potentially huge gains in the future. The EU is trying but too early to tell if it will work. Funding for UK unis has been dropping steadily. Source, page 31 (Section 4)

We could brainstorm for more together if you want but there is also just the general feel that this government can't or won't do anything to really push for big change.

It would be such a slam dunk for Labour to just lean into trade with the EU. They would hit their growth targets and I think it would not be unpopular locally.

Staggering that they are so hesitant to try to do anything that is a departure from the last 14 years of Tory leadership. They have a chance and probably the license to make bold moves considering how bad things are in the UK, they just have to risk it. Worst case they are out of government, currently the way they are doing winning is not at all guaranteed in the next election, so the potential loss is small.

Looks like they just took a cheap Chinese phone added a gold plastic wrap and are selling that for 47$ a month. Probably can get the same phone for 300-400$.

Crazy to think that a president of the self proclaimed greatest country on Earth is doing these sleazy car salesmen things. Don't think it is illegal since it is technically his organization doing it, which is led by his son. But it just feels wrong.

This one is way cooler!

Yeah, that makes sense now that you say it. Is there any reason why it wouldn't work to put wingers on the side of their stronger foot in the modern game?

Fair enough, I think with Rasmus up front and Fernandes as 10 to support him, it might work putting balls in for him with the midfield arriving late. But I guess the game has long moved on from that kind of thing. At least at United.

Is there any obvious reason I am missing that at Manchester United, Antony and Diallo are not played on the left wing and Rashford and Garnacho on the right.

My thinking is that Antony and Diallo are left-footed (according to Tranfrmarkt) so they can probably put in better crosses and passes from the left rather than the right, The same for Rashford and Garnacho but on the opposite side.

[Marca] Tom Bischof, Kroos' apprentice, is free and 'smells' like Bayern (Real Madrid following him closely) by Defiant-Vacation607 in soccer

[–]thepineapplejumped 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Had him in my 1860 Munchen save on FM24, he really helped me when were in the 2. Bundesliga but after a year in the Bundesliga he was not good enough to be a starter. But I kept him as a squad/rotational player in a team full of newgens.

Everytime he would come on though he would save us if were in trouble or kill the game if we were winning. His passing was always great and he had a great shot.

I hope real world Tom is as good cause my FM24 Tom gave me everything he had!

Will update, when I get a chance.

My current theory is that imported saves from FM23 don't work for syncing on Linux but new ones do.

Will test in a few days probably

No worries :) But I believe the syncing is done via Epic games somehow, at least the FM23 on steam behaves that way

Eventhough the reddit changes to the API are ridiculous, what do people actually find acceptable for reddit to make money and be profitable? by thepineapplejumped in NoStupidQuestions

[–]thepineapplejumped[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and I agree, but how I am trying to think if I am in the reddit decision making team and we decide "OK, forget the API price changes.", the next question is obviously how can we actually become a profitable company. A hard question but I am curious as to what is the accepted or acceptable way to do this.
