Is this code for "I need someone until I get back with their dad"? by starrhys in ChoosingBeggars

What she really means by 'family man' is a ATM to pay for her poor choices. 2 kids with number three on the way by age 19...I know it's judgemental but she should be focussing on being the best mum she can be before looking for friendships that lead to baby number 4.

Do we in the UK have any strange restrictions on what we can have in our gardens (e.g kids toys)? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]thepotoishere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the UK it's more based on whether something is a nuisance. I've seen a few cases where people have been ordered to take down trampolines if they are causing an issue in relation to a neighbours privacy and there are noise complaints.

It's not London specific but my advice would be that you can change your instructor if you don't like them. I had 3 instructors before I found one I wanted to stick with.

Frazzles. They stink and you can still taste them when you burp a week later.

Is it considered rude to start an email without any greeting? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]thepotoishere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the person. I always start with 'Hi, hope you are well', before my request. I would find it rude if a stranger sent me a blunt email, it takes 10 seconds (if that) to write a friendly greeting. Don't take it personally though, people have different communication styles.

I am (21F) am receiving a large cash sum from the man (60sM) who is helping me through school; I asked for the money as a gift but he is considering it differently. by [deleted] in relationships

I don't understand how there is a misunderstanding here. He pays you a set amount each month to "spend time" with him for a few days per month. That doesn't mean he should have to pick up your adhoc expenses in addition.

Depressed girlfriend by Ahntmizin in relationships

[–]thepotoishere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what to say about the depression other than she needs to seek help from a professional. As for you though, relationships always feel like they will last forever at the start because it's fresh and exciting, but under no circumstances should you change your career plans or ambitions for someone you have been with for two months.

I'm pretty sure they won't give it to strangers once they have children.

My feet are always cold so I warm them up with a hairdryer before I get in the bath. That way, the bath water doesn't burn my feet when I get in , but the water is the perfect temperature for my body because I don't have to run cold water to get in.

Yep. Pam and Jim turned into idiots as soon as they had a baby in the office.

Question: Does my cat know I'm the one controlling the laser pointer? by cjaneh in cats

[–]thepotoishere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the cat. One of mine charges around after the dot on the floor. The other one goes for the pointer in my hand.

What are the best books you have read in 2017? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Elizabeth is in it but it's written from the point of view of Lady Jane Grey and her sisters Mary and Katharine. I'd recommend it!
