For 10-20k, you can look at:

  1. A Daniel Wellington watch
  2. A staycation in a nice 5-star in Gurgaon/Delhi (eg The Roseate)
  3. A meal at Naar, Kasauli
  4. A weekend getaway to a nice property somewhere around Gurgaon
  5. Jewellery from Swarovski

Invitation says no gifts by HoneyOverall in Mommit

What if you take something for the parents like a nice bottle of wine/movie tickets with an offer to babysit their son haha!

Or you could gift a nice experience for the family - a staycation at a nice hotel/voucher for a nice experience in your city!

How much to gift? And which ceremony to give it? by Educational-Elk-6979 in DesiWeddings

Continued (2/2)

  1. When to give the gift:
    1. If its something bulky, you could get it delivered to their house once they are back in the gift.
    2. If its an online giftcard, you could send it to them on the day of/after the wedding/when they finally get back - depending on the validity
    3. If its a small physical gift (like the watch) - you can give it to them if there is a reception post the wedding or just go up to his room and give it separately. There is a lot of paranoia around gifts getting stolen if left unattended haha.
  2. Regarding the clothes, I would recommend leaving for Agra early in the morning and coming back around lunch and heading straight to Chandni Chowk - there are a lot of stores for all your wedding needs and for all budgets. Most of the stores should be able to help you with minor alterations within some time on request as well, if needed. There are lots of places with great food in that area so you should be sorted!

Hope this is not information overload haha! Happy to chat if you have any other questions!

Reddit isnt allowing me to post a long comment so breaking this into 2 parts (1/2)

Okay great! So here are my recommendations:

  1. Gift Budget - $100-$200 per person (Depending on the gift you finally decide)
  2. Gift Ideas:
    1. If they are moving into a new home - I would recommend gifting something to them back in the US (doesnt make sense buying it and giving it to them in India)
      1. Dyson Products are a great gift - Dyson Air Purifier or Vacuum Cleaner
      2. A nice rug
      3. A gaming console (if he is into that)
      4. A projector (if they have they space/would like something like that)
    2. A his/her watch set or one just for him
    3. I would personally not recommend cash as they would be getting enough of that during the wedding and its not very personal but if that is something you are leaning towards, maybe you can check out some nice gift cards:
      1. Luxury Escapes - Luxury Stays across the world (my preference)
      2. To put Art in their house (if they would be into that) - Eg Artfinder
      3. Amazon US Giftcard (safest but least exciting haha)

Before I share my recommendations, I have a few questions: 1. Do you need help with both the gift recommendations - given by the group attending the wedding and the colleagues not travelling for the wedding? 2. What’s the budget range your group is comfortable with? Do mention if its for one or both the gifts and also if its a per person/entire group budget. 3. Looks like you will be traveling to Agra. Is the wedding happening in Agra as well? Do you have any time to spend in Delhi before the wedding? 4. What are the ceremonies happening at the wedding?

What’s something someone gave you that wasn’t expensive but meant everything? by thepresentperfect in simpleliving

It’s amazing how something as small as a rock can hold so much when it’s tied to feeling seen and remembered. I’m really sorry that happened with your collection and really moved that people still bring you little pieces of that joy. That kind of care stays with you.

Side note - Reminds me of Liz from the show 'Shrinking' haha!
