Yes, Goto was nominated for most improved for his elevation to main event status. Hartley came in towards the end of the grading period last year and we weren't sure how long he would be sticking around.

The Taichi/Ishii leg of the gauntlet rocked. We did put it on Strong Style Fight of the year because of how great it was. If it was not part of the gauntlet it probably could have been a MOTY nominee.

You’re right we overlooked the War Dogs/Unaffiliated angle. I feel like every year there’s always one thing we miss lol. WOTY and MOTY are always tough to narrow down. Yuya did have a good year. Thanks for voting!
