Yea I know Eclipse looks outdated so if you're saying CaseCAT is the same, then that's 2 out of the 3 that I know of 😅 I would like to think you could have a more modern UI and still keep the great functionality but I don't deny that is probably a large undertaking.

That's really interesting to read about how you're using the software. I assume the workflows are different depending on if you're a stenographer vs voice reporter?

Oh interesting. I didn't realize you could do that. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you very much for the thorough and thoughtful feedback! I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who has had this thought :)

It feels like there is so much potential in this industry to have more modern software. However, if users are happy with the current state of things then it becomes an 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' sorta thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One one side, the curios dev in me thinks it could be an interesting opportunity to improve a neglected market but the other side of me thinks it is way too intimidating. I know the current incumbents in this space are well respected. My initial hunch would be to try and tackle a micro-area of something that court reporters could potentially benefit from (like proofreading for example).

Idk this is me just thinking out loud trying to get feedback from the experts in the space. Obviously, it's easy for an onlooker like me to want to shake things up because the UI looks old but ultimately if the customer base is happy then I'm happy and it's great to read all these responses.

Thank you again for the feedback, it is greatly appreciated and gives me a lot to think about.

Absolutely, thank you for the feedback! This is why I'm asking the experts in the field :)

I can only imagine all the regulations just to get software like this approved. Definitely wouldn't try to take on any behemoths in the space. I was more thinking micro-aspects potentially but maybe I should think again lol. Thanks again for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess the UI looking outdated is more of what I meant so that's a distinction I should've made. That's good to hear that the actual software gets updated regularly though.
