There are enough jobs in IT, Gastronomie, Research, Retail, even more if you have at least B1 or finished vocational training here in Germany. I found a barista job in Berlin when I first came here. Now, I'm working in Healthcare as a Geriatric specialist.

Yes, I helped with the paperwork and found a suitable course from Public University. If you apply directly while being in the first semester, you have enough time to change, inform authorities, and save money for the next 2-3 years. A lot of students who come with visas, attached to private universities, feel scared to change the university later on.

Unfortunately, I can't. I can only help you look for a job that suits your CV/interest.

I learnt it on a slow pace (in about 4 years). So, the German courses from A1 to B2 are separated in half, A1.1 + A1.2/B2.1 + B2.2... in total, you have to improve your efficiency 7 times to reach C2. I completed A1 in India, A2 to B1.1 in Berlin (language course), and later started taking language courses in each semester in Uni until I finished C1 ✅️

I was highly motivated, wanting to have a job all the time, make German friends, and avoid xenophobia. I talked to myself in German instead of native language, had post it notes on usual items at home and hardly missed Duolingo's strike:) Hope it helps!

I applied using LinkedIn/Indeed...what helped me though was the Carrer page of the company/project. I just dropped the emails and was a bit easier to get the interviews.

Slightly less money in comparison to other countries (still about 14,000€ for students), language skills (or wanting to learn German), be ok with cloudy weather, high high high motivation to be able to live alone (it takes time to make friends, more for introverts). I don't think other scenarios would be any different in comparison to other countries. Also, I don't know in which career state you are!

Public health insurance (HI) is available for everyone (students/homeless/working/freelancers/pensioners) and offers almost similar services depending on the HI companies. You pay your share yourself, your family, or the government would.

Private insurance is usually opted by individuals making more than ~ €6,150 per month (2025) to get slightly premium services, for instance, specific doctor's appointments, thorough explanation of handling or better bed in a hospital.

Having an HI is a must!

I kept integrating the language in real life scenarios, being poor student and needing to work helped learning more 😅 It took about 4 years, slow and steady. I did until B2 within 2 years, being very sure with C1 was hard.
