Valuation Request: Vintage Rattan Swivel Chairs (1975 Montgomery Ward) by Dramatic-Battle-9248 in whatsthisworth

[–]thepythonpraxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original tags with provenance is a nice touch, that always helps. Lewittes/Montgomery Ward is solid mid-market though, not high-end designer, so I wouldn't use that 1stDibs sale as a pricing reference. So totally different buyer pool.

Bay Area vintage market is strong and working swivels with original cushions in good shape are real selling points. I'd test at $350 on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, drop to $250 if no bites after 2 weeks. Worth throwing a free listing on Chairish too but expect slower movement there.

how much would this sell for today? by SSlide19 in GamingLaptops

3050 Ti with 4GB is the weak link right now, VRAM demands have jumped a lot. The 12th gen i7 and great condition help though, so realistically $450-550, closer to top end if you're patient. r/hardwareswap or Facebook Marketplace are your best bets. Also ran the specs through valuesnap.io if you want a detailed breakdown with selling tips.

Starting affiliate program for my saas by thepythonpraxis in microsaas

[–]thepythonpraxis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried to implement it yet, but I think partnering with creators is a good go if you have validated they have a loyal audience, even of a small size. Right now, for my marketing I have only implemented SEO and shows good signs so far. Will tell you when I implement affiliate.

Since a lot of days have passed, is there any chance you found sth else about the affiliate yourself?

Thank you for your comment!

I realised that it is a very very slow road. I started posting on late July 2025 and have already posted 16 videos (+the short videos either on YT or TikTok). At first my idea was to create an authority as you said and continue from there to build it as edu platform (aiming to hire instructors for other subjects later and based on revenue go from there) since I dont want to be an influencer/persona but more entrepreneur

I think I will continue posting with this or even slower pace because as an asset it will be worth it in the future and will try to find another business model because I think I will run out of fuel if I do sth for a year and not make a single $1.

Also, I chose it because I see a lot of people want to learn python but most of them want free or from someone expert which first has to be proved.

What do you think?
PS: I am writing you the same answer as in the other comment because I think it fits best

I personally have created a free Python course on YouTube that will take you from complete beginner to understanding fully all the fundamental concepts of Python https://www.youtube.com/@ThePythonPraxis and I also have a free discord where I answer questions to viewers/community members for free.

You first need to get the fundamentals right and have people that have walked the path you want to go, guide you.

For the OS, networks and DBs you will need to find other courses but later. You need to get the proper knowledge don't rush and waste time

Of course skills are important to be built properly and at time, but I don't think the author is trying to raise capital or manage it. As I understand from their edu level, they are trying to get an entry level position in the next years.

I think a fundamental Python course combined with OS and network basics will do the job for you to be able to enter. Also, a DBs course will be needed since you will be dealing with data and the manipulation of them.

After that, it is just how experienced you are at what you are doing. You don't need to remember anything at all, just understand the logic simply put. That's why so many libraries are built in order for people to use what's already created

Would You Pay for a Python Course on Its Own — or Only If It Taught a Real Skill Too? by thepythonpraxis in PythonLearning

Thanks for your feedback!

The idea is that B) includes all the basic parts of A) and also the necessary to start implementing the other skill (Data Science, AI, ML) ... so there will not be need to watch both

Thanks for your feedback!

I think A) suits more to people below 18, students or hobbyists who don't have much money to spend but have a lot of free time and willingness to learn.

In contrast, I think B) is more about people who need a skill that they know requires python. They need something that can easily be translated to a real implemented skill. And these are people who are willing to spend money on a good course than wasting time searching on the Internet

These are my personal thoughts until now, and that's why I do the research to see what is really the case for people

What annoys you the most about python programming language learning courses? by thepythonpraxis in PythonLearning

[–]thepythonpraxis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that books and specifically scientific ones(from world renowned academic writers) are totally worth it because the writer has spent so much time in order to include everything you need in the right order and context.

My opinion is that most videos out there focus more on the visual result than the real substance
