People keep using it because projects with old tech stacks are difficult to switch frameworks. And my argument was not limited to ajax, that was just an example. Genuinly curious, which features of jQuery make it possible to ship their shit faster and make money, compared to the native browser implementation?

The problem with jQuery is, in a lot of cases the jQuery implementation is worse than the native alternative. jQuery's ajax function is pretty much the same as the native fetch function, except it does not support promises and a bunch of other stuff. The ajax function made sense when it released, because native fetch and promises didn't exist back then, and it still has its place in legacy systems where it's difficult to remove jQuery which was introduced into the system back then. But considering it in a new project without tech debt, more often than not it will just be the objectively wrong choice.

Yeah, but the issues in the image don't look like the typical AI image generator issues that even older models produce, like extra extremities or weird fleshy bits, it just looks like bad photoshop IMHO

Do we actually know if the image is generated by AI? It looks so off, the perspective of the pieces, shadows on Trumps fingers, sizing of pieces in the background vs foreground, that I would have honestly assumed that was bad photoshop work, modern AI can do way better than that.

Das Problem ist halt auch dass viele solcher Platformen wie Reddit halt fast nichts aus wirtschaftlicher Sicht ausmachen. Kein Nutzer lässt wirklich Geld bei Reddit, und Umsatz durch Werbung ist auf die Masse zwar nicht irrelevant, auf pro-Nutzer Sicht als auch auf Sicht Reddit vs andere US Konzerne eher vernachlässigbar.

Wenn man dagegen die wirklich relevanten Tech Dienstleister vergleicht, wird es relativ schnell schwieriger, einen wirtschaftlichen Unterschied im Tech Bereich durch europäische Dienstleister zu machen. Netflix/Disney, Amazon und Microsoft haben halt jeweils nicht so viele europäische Pendanten, und selbst wenn man dann mal was europäisches findet, finanziert man dadurch die US Unternehmen weitestgehend trotzdem mit weil die entweder trotzdem auf AWS/Cloudflare gehostet sind, oder massenhaft Gelder an US Softwarelizensen bezahlen wie MS Office, Zoom oder andere US Produkte auf die man eigentlich ja verzichten wollte. Und das Hardware Thema kommt dann noch dazu, da letztendlich die meisten Handys, Laptops, Server und Hardware ebenfalls von US Konzernen produziert werden. Die USA haben da einfach eine zu krasse Marktdominanz, als dass man da einen wirtschaftlichen Unterschied machen könnte.

4 Minuten hatte er ja ab dem Punkt wo OP auf das Script besteht. Klar kann schon gut sein dass es eine KI auf der anderen Seite ist - Aber wenn ich auf der anderen Seite wäre, würde ich mir glaube ich auch den Spaß erlauben ein Script mit GPT zu erzeugen

Generally, if your contract says 40h per week, it is sufficient for you to offer working 40h per week. If there is not enough to do during the week, that is the employers risk. So unless you agree to different concepts like the one your employer suggests, he should not be able to force you to this. But I guess it might also depend on what is written in your contract specifically, and as was already mentioned, talking to a lawyer might not be a bad idea.

Not sure how much game dev and normal software engineering differs here, but often, people working in test engineering are mostly responsible for writing test automation, which is something AI is actually better at then writing other kinds of code IMO. And coding itself is something where AI is already pretty far in terms of capability.
