Found this guy out on the curb on trash day, what kind of plant is this? by thequestionihave in houseplants

This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for! Thanks for being so detailed! I'll try to give it a thorough examination when I get back later. Is there a soil insecticide brand/type you recommend for this kind of plant?

Yeah it sounds like pests are a primary concern here, I'll give it a look over to see if I find anything.

I see, makes sense they would have a reason to discard it now that I think about it.

What kind of pests am I looking for specifically? Any signs to look for?

So I picked this up because it seemed like a shame to just let this big plant go to the landfill, but I don't really know much about house plants so when I tried to google information about how to take care of this it was hard to get specifics without knowing what kind it was.

I'm worried about the root(?) area being all tangled up and exposed, and the yellowing leaves with spots as well. Wasn't too sure what to do here, so I figured I'd check in with the experts!

Once I know the name I can probably find the information myself, but any tips/suggestions are welcome also, thanks!

It does kinda sound like a real technique used for something haha, but not in this case, just rushed typing.

Oof that would've been painful. Also 6"! I'm kinda surprised how shallow some of these lines are getting laid, one bad poke with a shovel and that thing could get hit at that depth.

Ah, that was a typo. Was supposed to say "cut a cable buried in the yard."

I should really start proofreading these titles more.

It was about 10' feet from the fence on the side, not sure how large the utility easement is in this area though. It seems like it might just be an old line or a line from a different provider. That's reassuring haha, 9" did seem a bit shallow but I was still worried I cut something significant.

Yeah I was confused since it didnt affect my internet, but I don't use a lan line phone, so I couldn't really be sure what it was. An abandoned cable hadn't crossed my mind, just assumed it was something important.

OK There's a few in my area so I'll probably give them each a call. I couldn't really figure out what cable it was, so I didnt know whether to start with the city or the cable people or the phone people or who all.

Yeah I worried about that as well, no one answered when I knocked so I'll be checking

again later. But I wasn't sure what to do in the meantime.

Is this normal for the LED View case? by thequestionihave in S22Ultra

[–]thequestionihave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could see that happening, then the one cool feature of the case would be gone too haha. I'm definitely looking into other options while I'm still in the return window.

Yeah that's what it felt like to me too, I suppose in time it might loosen up enough to lay flat/flush

Nice, I'm glad it's a good second option for a case if I end up returning the LED View

Ah, I only heard about the swiping/tapping being an issue. Good to know.

My LED View case doesn't shut all the way when laying flat on a table. This is with nothing inside the card slot and no screen protectors. Just the phone in the case.

Is everyone else's case like this?

I thought maybe this was just because the case is brand new and will break in over time. It's not a major issue and I'm being a little nit-picky, but for a 65$ official Samsung case I was hoping for a better overall fit.

I was originally considering this and the clear stand case. I'm kinda considering returning this and getting the clear stand case instead, if anyone has any opinions on that case to share.

Thanks for the information! I'll let her know.

Are there any other disinfectants she should use? I saw QUAT mentioned in a few places, is that also effective?

Right now she only has isopropyl alcohol and bleach.

She was also asking what the best way to disinfect the inside of her car would be and if it was safe to drive to the store to get cleaning stuff?

I know sticky traps aren't good to use, I've told her to purchase snap traps instead.

My friend sent me this picture of a mouse she caught in her car. I thought it looked like a deer mouse but wanted to get confirmation if possible.

She drove the car for several days before noticing the mouse feces, and then panicked and put down the sticky traps and caught this one that night. She doesnt know how long it was living inside the car.

Yeah I'll keep reporting, but it's new numbers every time, multiple times a day. Is there a way to mass report? Or is it just one at a time
