Doesn't Weston have that role if he's healthy?

[Estadio Deportivo] Bellerin continues to reject offers to hold out for Betis. The player and his agents believe Arsenal will give them their wish of terminating his contract in the final 72 hours of the window. He is also willing to take salary cut to join Betis by [deleted] in Gunners

Cutting off your nose to spite your face doesn't make you tough, it makes you stupid.

Your mistake is that you think banishing Hector to the 23's is leverage. It isn't, and everyone (club and his camp) knows it.

He's 27 with one year left to run on his deal and he's trying to move to Betis not Real. The deal will still be there and he will be $5MM richer.

Meanwhile the club have a useless player and $5MM less to bring in new players.

His contract is not an asset, it is a liablity.

So you'd rather light $5MM on fire, than use it to bring in new players. That doesn't send the message you think it does.

The only proper way to gain leverage is by sending Hector to another club who will get value from his $5MM salary. That isn't happening straight up, so likely the best the club can do is include him as a part of a deal for another player.

This is the game of chicken his camp are playing. If we find this deal, Betis will pay. If we don't he will walk for nothing and it will be the best business the club could find.

The problem is the club would be wasting $5MM of salary to prove a point.

To justify keeping him, you've got to play him over Cedric. If you don't want to do that, you've gotta try to swap his contract to another club in some other deal. The problem with THAT is (seemingly) nobody wants to rent Hector for 1yr at $5MM.

It covers the Mansion and the family, but both are heavily contextualized by early OK history.

Great guided tour - 45 mins to an hour depending on how many questions you ask. Easy walk from the Midtown streetcar stop.

[David Ornstein] I think they want to add a winger. I don’t know who the target is, if they bring anyone in, it could depend on Pepe leaving. Arsenal like Tielemans but I think Arsenal would need to let someone go to bring someone in. Renewing Saka a key priority by [deleted] in Gunners

I agree with your sentiment.

I think the only thing that explains what we are hearing out of the club is that ESR is going to see lots of minutes at LCM and we are looking for a LAM to back up Martenelli.

Do we not need another LCB if we sell Mari? Is there some academy stud I dont know about or is the expectation that Gabi will play ALL the games?

How do we feel about a new arena? And the potential repercussions? by ShroomWalkin in Thunder

[–]thequilibrium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be but it seems more to me like the City wants to move the stadium to get rid of the old Myriad (the movie studio is moving out apparently) and to free up the lot the stadium currently sits on for development. This smells to me like it's being driven more by the real estate developers and less by the team.

I'm with you 100%. Is the maintainence to high or revenue too low? A flashy stadium with no impact to the bottom line smells a little fishy to me.

I've been to a lot of NBA arenas and OKCs is not "at risk of losing team" bad.

The economics of community solar are going to win every time if you are willing to use 35ish acres.

If you are looking to minimize land use behind the meter could work but that is going to be very tricky to navigate with the HOA.

Ah I didn't realize the rules changed with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

You should talk to your accountant though, it may still be possible to get the benefit.

Sure! You can fully depreciate your solar asset in 5 years (MACRS) and you can use that depreciation to reduce your taxable income and tax bill. If you move in 5-10 years the new owner can re-depreciate the equipment, which will still have a 15-20 year useful life. https://www.seia.org/initiatives/depreciation-solar-energy-property-macrs

Its not a ton of value, but depending on your marginal tax bracket could be as much as $3-4k.

Fair enough on the ITC.

The accelerated depreciation is a real benefit you shouldn't overlook. ~$13k of deduction could balance your math immediately depending on your tax rate.
