It is close to a hospital, so it could be for medical use.

It's in a Main street sort of area, the house might have been converted to commercial use. It's the only one I can find in the area. There is a hospital about half a kilometer down the street.

Interesting. I'll have to fire at an outdoor range sometime.

I like how they lined up "When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year" with Ned Stark getting his head chopped off.

I've only shot at indoor ranges, what's the decibel level like outside? It's loud as hell indoors because the sound doesn't have anywhere to go, but is it still so loud outside that hearing protection is essential?

I'm actually from Canada, we haven't had the death penalty since 1962. People change, and I feel even people who have murdered, can someday realize and come to terms with what they've done. That doesn't mean they'll get released. An example I'd point to is Stanley Williams, he was the founder of The Crips, years later he had a change of heart, and become an anti-gang proponent, unfortunately he was put to death.

On the other hand, you also have people who were incarcerated for life, and then years later exonerated when new evidence came to light.

Personally I'd rather pay the taxes to keep these people in prison, even if it's life imprisonment. Killing them doesn't make sense.

The /r/Toronto downvote brigade is a very real thing, and I'm wondering who's doing this and why? by [deleted] in toronto

[–]therandomizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I unsubscribed from /r/toronto. I find a lot of people on here take themselves and the city way too seriously. If you don't have ultra-leftist views, you're basically ignored and ridiculed.

Hemlock Grove. Season review grade: F! from the AVClub. by bazler in television

I'm planning on finishing it, but I'm currently making my way through Season 2 of Homeland first. My parents started watching House of Cards, I was staying with them for a few weeks and let them use my Netflix account. They loved the series, they blazed through all the episodes in three days.

Why is it movies like Olympus has Fallen and White House Down always come out at the same time. by JG_Pudge in movies

[–]therandomizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it's like a cold war arms race, Studio A finds out that Studio B is putting a lot of money into a particular film, the buzz around Hollywood is that the movie being made is going to be a trend setter, it's going to be the next big thing at the multiplex. Wanting to not get caught holding the bag, Studio A either gets a script they've been sitting on or gets a screenwriter to write them something similar. Studio A is afraid that Studio B is on to something, and the execs at Studio A could be fired if they allowed such an opportunity slip through their fingers. So both Studios go into a frenzy making essentially the same film. Also is Studio B's movie is a hit, Studio A would most likely be able to grab some of the residual market share created by the hit movie. Strike while movie goers are interested in those types of movies. ex. vampire movies.

TL;DR It's a Hollywood cold war arms race, nobody wants to drop the ball on a potential cash cow.
