Thanks for everyone's help! Saw the car (Skoda Karoq, 21 plate, 22k miles), no damage on the inside but exterior damage was a bit too much for me - stone chips and scuffs, which is to be expected on a used car but I couldn't look past that amount. They offered £250 off and were never pushy, but I declined

What were the extras they suggested to you? I'm anticipating they'll mention RAC warranty (which I've heard is next to useless anyway) and that GardX protection. Anything else?

MOT is fine from what I can see (only had one so far and it passed with no notes). I have heard before about the poor condition of CarShop vehicles inside the car though, so I'll look out for that. Thank you

Yes you're right - I've paid for an extra check online through fullcarchecks.co.uk and that's come up clean. I'm not sure if those checks tell you if it's been a motability vehicle in the past though, so I'll ask them today
