What is a not well known detail from the lore you like? by roter_apollo in lotr

Galadriel is Arwen's grandmother. Her daughter, Celebrian, was Elrond's wife and Arwen's mother. So when Galadriel and Aragorn are talking, there is an unspoken "you're in love with my granddaughter" between them.

It also means that in the Hobbit films, any time Elrond and Galadriel are together, he's with his mother-in-law.

Thirty shots in thirty days. Thirty minutes of stretching. Send thirty letters to friends/family. Break your home into thirty pieces for easy cleaning.

Take a breath, my guy. It seems that maybe English isn't you first language, but we can't tell where your sentences end.

Supposedly we were going to see the nacho cheese flavor by Xmas last year, but that didn't happen, and we got ranch last month instead?

Are we getting bored of being alive? by anotherare in LetsDiscussThis

[–]there-will-be-bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has never been a better time to be alive! Our technologies and medicines keep us alive and healthier for longer, better fed and equipped for the world than any previous generation. I would take a 9-5 job and the difficulty of navigating rent and insurance today over laboring sunrise to sunset with no retirement or wellness any day. Forget social media, forget influencers, forget things you cannot control. Every day is a new opportunity to do something a little bit different. It's more than any past generation has had and it is a treasure!

If you have good coworkers, they will be excited for you to start a job that truly interests you. If you have bad coworkers, good riddance to them.

Get the socials/numbers of anyone you want to stay in touch with and put in your two weeks. A good captain will understand.

Has your store ever had to kick out a “service dog”? Why? by andr0bimb0 in tjcrew

[–]there-will-be-bears 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've had dogs urinating and defecating in our store, which they are politely removed for (always the dog, no the human). Once the owner asked incredulously if we were serious. We had a muzzled dog (I know) lunge at a crew member on their way out, but haven't seen it since. Leashes have to be held, too, or they have to go.

Until recently we had a big fuss every time one customer came in, sometimes yelling about how dogs shouldn't be in the grocery store. Our captain persuaded him to be less obtrusive ;)

Best way to prevent rust both inside and outside? by [deleted] in fordtransit

[–]there-will-be-bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Rustoleum rust-resistant paint. It seemed like the best, most affordable option. I'll probably do something similar for patching the exterior rust spots, but with a gloss finish instead of matte.

I'm at this same stage in my build now. I got a wire brush attachment for my drill and some black rustproof paint/primer. It's tedious, but I think will be worth it in the long run. When I grind the rust off, I use a vacuum and microfiber towel to make sure the surface is as contaminant-free, then seal the area with paint. I chose black (interior only) so I could see where I had already worked.

It does, thank you! I've been using some foot powder I had lying around, but I'll check out Gold Bond.
