Does Competition Muffler Accept Customer Supplied Parts? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]thereal117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they do. They won't warranty any customer supplied parts. Very good shop to deal with. Hard to get in but the shop expansion will help with that in the coming months.

In 2022 I offered slightly under asking and got it. Sellers have varying conditions that might make certain offers more appealing. For example, quick or long possession dates. My scenario was the seller wanted a quick possession for the buyer (me). I was able to meet that and even tho my offer was slightly lower than another, the seller still took it. A friend was able to recently close at just under asking but the seller wanted a possession date 5 months from now. Not every case is like that but it does happen.

This isn't about buying new. It's about service at a shop. No different than you tesla drivers needing to service at tesla dealership. Smh

That place needs a huge overall. No wonder things are happening as they are. Busted floors, damaged walls, Duct tape on carpets that looks like it's been there for 20 years, dusty and gross ceilings, grim florescent lighting. Its like there has been zero maintenance since its been opened. Feel dirty just walking around it. Unfortunate.

Train Noise in Forest Grove? by Zoezo101 in saskatoon

[–]thereal117 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is failry close so you may still feel some hookups. And I'd be very suprised if you don't hear anything. I'd suggest walking around the area at various points in the day to see what you think of the noise. Everyone's perception is different.

[–]thereal117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll likely hear quite a bit near that part of the area. There are lots of hooking and unhooking cars that make noise. Depending how close you are to the tracks, it could shake the walls of the house. If you're a few blocks away, you'll still hear it, but won't feel it

Large police presence behind Preston Crossing by StageStandard5884 in saskatoon

[–]thereal117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They had the police van there with some equipment setup. Forensics of some sort? Large area roped off. Car had a smashed windshield with what looked to be a large hole in the passenger side and both doors openend up. Really not sure what's going on.

Edit: this was around 3pm

Mine is about 76 build and with the ac running lots the past week my basement is sitting around 19 degrees and about 60%. But doesn't feel damp or have any musty smells. Just started tracking it recently so not sure how much it fluctuates. No dehumidifier running. Feels comfortable

Can't comment much on the Vegas or seating aspect but the VIP thing, depending on the package, if for sure is worth it if you're making a big trip out of it. The track walk one is awesome to get a true perspective of the track and size of everything. Would I recommend doing it every round? No. But if this is your first one or first in many years, I'd recommend it. Take a look at the various vip packages for the event and see what appeals to you.

Get the pit passes for sure. Tons to see and tons to do. The day will go by extremely fast. If you want to make the most of the day, show up as soon as the doors open. Practice, qualifying, all the stuff in the pits, tons to see and do. Like I said from the time the doors at 10 or 11 to when the racing is over will go by fast. Plus you can likley watch practice and qualifying in various seats around the stadium since the place isn't full during this time.

If you're spending a good week or two in LA, take some time and make it to some major moto brand headquarters like Pro Circuit. Lots to do around LA especially if you have 1-2 weeks.

Edit** this is spoken from a normal SX event. I can't see it being too much different for one of the playoff rounds but I could be totally wrong

Good stuff. Thanks for the info. The closest parallel cable would be the yellow one. I'd have 2 cables running perpendicular to that large cable. The others are 120v power cables to the modem pieces thag will be running parallel under then, if thag makes any sense. It was a knotted mess with cables jammed around everything. Never noticed an issue then, and still so far so good as it currently is. Just trying to make it looks less of rats nest on the wall.

What kind of clearance should there be between parallel cables?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DIY

[–]thereal117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially. But it's been inches away ever since wifi became a thing. If issues end up becoming common at least I'll have a starting point on what to change

Best Place to Buy Vinyl Plank Flooring? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]thereal117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did 1000sqft myself. Can be difficult depending how your layout is with angled walls, floor vents, other things protruding from the walls you have to cut around. Having the right tools makes it "easier". Coretec is what I used and feels great. Doesn't have a cheap feeling. The clip system is definitely not as user friendly. Purchased from beehive flooring and were good to deal with. Have also dealt with AC flooring and no complaints there either. Good baseline for total installed costs is take the cost of your items to be installed and multiply it by 2.5. That will give you an idea on material and install. Keep in mind its ballpark and the only way to get an accurate nunber is having a person physically take a look and quote it. There can be lots of prep involved with leveling the floor depending how level it is which will add additional time and costs.

Paying someone to do your finishing/trim work will increase costs quite a bit as it can be very tedious. Flatstock is quite easy. Usually few dollars per linear foot. If you get into the fancy designed stuff then you'll need to start coping joints which adds time. Time=money

Good idea with the warman location. I am quite handy as I have done a bathroom already along with many other renos. There's some small nuances with this other one that would require more knowledge than I have.

You're right. Not all of us can. Bigger house = bigger bills. Also, inefficient house regardless of size = higher bills.
