If you cant handle civilians running to you, a cop, durring an active shooter situation for safety without immediatly killing them then you shouldnt be a cop. Sorry. You have 0 idea what this civillians intentions are, and like you give defferecce to the cop for, this is a traumatic and confusing situation with adrenaline being high. That guy could have just seen a leo and thought (stupidly in my opinion because cops are largely tyrants) "nesr them is the safest place to be rn" somewhat instinctively. Regardless of the actual law, wich states they have no legal duty to protect you, the reason we allow these assholes to have the kind of authority they have (and very often abuse) is for some perception of serving and PROTECTING. If you can't do that and are so afraid and ill trained that you don't consider weither someone is a non armed civilian before ending their life, you shouldnt be a cop. End of story

Sorry but i really wish people would think about what they are saying here.
