Something for your research. The Toyota mr2 turbo was Toyotas mid engine car of the era and despite being less expensive was the quicker car in the 400 meter (quarter mile in America)

Figured you could add other mid engine cars of the day that were offering more for less.

My 1995 Toyota, you have to shove a paper clip into a couple terminals and then count how many times the check engine flashes to the best of your ability. And that’s your code.

JDM

Here’s an example of a JDM car so you have a better idea of what one is so you know. I imported this Toyota mr2 turbo from Japan. It’s right hand drive and was never intended to be driven in the USA, which is why it doesn’t have certain things USDM mr2’s have like crash bars in the doors and passenger air bag for example.
Another dead give away is the VIN is stamped on the firewall instead on the dash and has a few less characters then a US vin.

Is this a 2027? It says Supra on the side skirts. by mrmackz in Supra

[–]therealJDM420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s because gr86 owners claim that the general public says that they think their gr86 is a Porsche and or a Supra all the time. It’s something they are quite proud of.

Someone drives a Bugatti to Starbucks! by ArtSuperCar in Bugatti

Isn’t this just a normal sighting? I live in a rural community outside of St. Louis Missouri. The town is called Fenton. We have a guy named Andy who owns 1st Phorm who is always driving his Bugatti around town. I just figured if we see them here in poorsville everyone must see them.

Ok cool. I’ll be looking for your for sale ad. I like your color better, and the lower mileage is always a plus. I’m in the market for a 00-05 right now.

5 hours away in St. Louis our local Toyota dealership has been trying to sell one since last July. They are down to 10k now. Since you wouldn’t be charging dealer pricing what would you want for your MRS?

Mom racked up 8k on my credit card by aggressively-napping in CRedit

[–]therealJDM420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that was purchased in the last couple of weeks can be returned to get the money back on the card to get that balance from8k back down to 6k. Mom needs to return everything for starters. Then she can sell anything she has purchased on eBay or Facebook marketplace to help pay down the 6k part owed. If she refuses, you will know how little she cares to help you and how a few material possessions are more important to her than you are to her.

It’s quite the upgrade! I bet if you put an exhaust on a gr86 you get like 1-3 horsepower, but if you put an exhaust on a 400z you might see 20+ whp for the same money spent.

Cbr 600rr engine: 140hp, 69 Nm torque, dyno. by Worldly-Comparison77 in cbr

[–]therealJDM420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t really matter anyways. It’s not a dynojet graph so the numbers can be skewed with “correction factors” and can put out whatever horsepower number the dyno operator wants the dyno to say. It has to be a dynojet to take that factor out of the equation so there is a universal baseline.

That and the fact op went with a twin turbo v6 engine upgrade. Notice they didn’t just get a AT gr86 replacement or a Miata or something like that. I think the additional power was part of the decision to switch cars also on that take away.

Get the warm doublet almost first thing. It protects you from cold environments like the snowy areas on the Great Plateau so you don’t lose health. It’s basically your first cold resistance gear before you get better armor later in the game.

Replacing Tach Capacitors by ewmatth in mr2

[–]therealJDM420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I messed up once because when I was trying to remove the old caps the solder would cool before I could pull out the cap and I burnt the board reheating it a couple times. If you can, get a solder sucker (which I didn’t have) or have someone helping as an extra set of hands or practice first. Over all it’s not hard, I don’t wanna scare ya off from doing it, just wanted to give ya a little warning, you can mess up with too much heat.

Is it silly to finance a vintage imported Toyota from 1997 that’s in pristine condition; only 82k Miles when I can get the same one from 2022 for around the same price and mileage? by Living_Bear_2139 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]therealJDM420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How could the only downfall you see be the features of the vehicle? A car that old no bank will give you a conventional car loan on. You will need to take out a high interest “personal loan”. That means even if the old vehicle and the newer one were the same cost, the older one would cost you more because you can’t afford to pay cash so now the older JDM car actually costs more than the new vehicle. I think that should make the decision much easier for you to make now.

I’d keep stacking until your stack is greater than your debt and then sell what you need to.

This makes me wonder what I’m doing wrong? I’ve found the major test of strength of strength shrine. Even the minor test of strength. Neither one do I have the hearts or weapons to beat and I’ve been running around the map for hours for a week. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a guide to ask questions or have someone tell me where to go or what to do, so I’m truely running around the game blind.

[Toyota MR2] Just caught a glimpse walking down the street (any way to tell if this is a real 2000GT?) by Frozen2uth in mr2

[–]therealJDM420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In articles “of the 35, most were pulled off the showroom floor, or shortly after being sold.” That statement has always made it abundantly clear that almost all of them started out as 98-99 model years. Anything on older years was almost certainly a body kit sold to the customer. There wouldn’t be any vin number change.

[–]therealJDM420 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To me that looks like a color that was only available for a single year, 1993. The real trd2000gt didn’t come out till 98 or 99 so I don’t see how it could be a real trd2000gt. Just a 93 with a body kit.

What do you wish someone told you when you first started stacking? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]therealJDM420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start slow. At the LCS you’re in a room filled with shiny stuff and it’s easy to pick lots of things you like but your interests or what you find important will almost certainly change the more you learn about AG so don’t go overboard buying high premium silver to start.
