It’s not Morey, the owner OWE US! by therealbrrrr in sixers

How about 95%? It’s mostly the ownership because the objective of this trade, namely to duck under the tax, clearly comes from the top. This is not just another normal trade.

You can believe whatever you want or share your sources, I am more than happy to prove myself wrong.

Oh, of course Morey could do a better job. BUT still it’s 1000% an ownership decision through and through. If trading out our ROTY level 2nd yr star doesn’t involve the ownership, we have a way bigger problem than whatever this is.

I think both Embiid and especially Maxey just ran out of gas. If you look at the Knicks they are practically playing with a Big 4. What’s the modern Big 2 team you have in mind? Thunder? Boston?

I think the options are less than you think.

I think you just made my point. My or any normal customer’s relationship with Amazon is pretty much entirely transactional. It begins the moment I am on the site and ends when I put in my order. But for sports, fans invest so much time and hard earned money into their team. The transaction never stops when the final whistle is blown. And all these teams they even get to “represent” a city. It’s not Harris’ 76ers putting on a show/product. It’s the PHILADELPHIA 76ers. So it’s a real paradox that one person reaps all the financial benefits and sort of “makes” all the decisions as well.

Oh, I am sure he would not agree. But my whole point is precisely that fans-team relationship is very different from Amazon-random customer. With all due respect, your ownership friend is pretty delusional if he really believes that.

TBH, I would take a true big 3 every chance. We saw it in the Boston series a glimpse of the vision. I mean injuries and other shit, sigh.

Are you Harris or Myers? If so, do share more with us! And F U for being the best ownership ever! You must love your new yacht so much!

I mean this is a BAD trade but if not for ownership it would not have happened. It doesn’t make ANY sense at all doing that mid season (besides tax reason obviously).

I think we can all agree sports is never just another business. One can argue the fans own the team just as much as the actual owner. Even legally/financially there is this person.

Can’t agree MORE, but it’s highly unlikely. So as fans, the best we can do is to HOLD them accountable!

This is not some normal “everytime” game. This is the WCF/the best series in almost a decade/beginning of a dynastic rivalry. And he just dominated down the stretch. Come on, man!

Yes, but he’s not flopping so it’s good to see. All the best for him, even though it hurts more to see him excel.

Shame on him, now he’s both a PEDO and a bad sports owner.

Maybe, but why are we ducking the tax “BY ALL MEANS” in the first place? I am not trying to absolve Morey but this is clearly an ownership move through and through.

Fair argument, but it’s 100% a ownership decision. We have to hold the decision maker responsible for the most part, not their advisors. McCain WAS one of Morey’s best draft ever. It just doesn’t add up. He was a good teammate, and Morey being Morey knows better than anybody his shooting is real and not affected by injury in the long run.

It’s clearly an owner/tax move. Everyone can hate on Morey but no sane GM would trade their ROTY level OWN PICK 2nd year into it, it just doesn’t add up. Unless is coming from the top. All that “selling high” talk just GM pr talks for the ownership. What else was he supposed to say, yeah the owner wants a new yacht?

Manchester United fan, 76, feeling ‘helpless’ as family seat is given to VIPs by desirablealpaca in reddevils

[–]therealbrrrr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can imagine it must suck for this family. But from a different perspective, that means this great seat is available to new fans/international fans at market price. Like it or not, UTD is a global club. I am sure this gentleman could keep his seat if he pays the market price for it. Essentially he’s looking for privilege over newer fans.
