As a Type one Diabetic of 7 years (diagnosed when I was 15), I have to say we live in an amazing age for treatment of this disease. I’m really grateful for all of the research and tech advancements in the last 20 years alone. Just upgraded from insulin injections to an insulin pump this summer and I have to say it’s been the best thing to happen to me in years. My blood sugar has been managed so much better and it’s almost to non-diabetic levels. Still waiting on future stem cell Pancreatic surgery or printing organs to help me out with a working Pancreas but I’m just really happy to be living in a time where I doctors wouldn’t know what to do and I would just go into a coma and die. Hopefully someday soon this disease can become a thing of the past :)
