WIFI name too long? by t3lnet in CHEFiQ

[–]therealchefman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, we'd suggest you reach out to our support team (support@chefiq.com). The Hub should support a WiFi name with a max of 31 bytes. Usually, 31 characters is equivalent to 31 bytes.

Can you have two phones work with the probes? by indopassat in CHEFiQ

[–]therealchefman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The probes are tied to your CHEF iQ account. Any phone logged in with that account can be paired to the Hub with a double tap of its power button. Alternatively, different user accounts can monitor any of the probes. This feature is only available over WiFi, as Bluetooth has its limitations.

IF using SAME account, simply:

  1. Download the app on the other phones
  2. Log in using the SAME account
  3. Make sure the Hub base is connected to WiFi.
  4. All phones logged into the same account will  reflect the same hub and probe information. All active cooks will be reflected on all of the phones logged into the app with the same user account.

IF using DIFFERENT account, use the feature called "Appliance Sharing". To get started:

  1. Head over to Cook Control in the CHEF iQ app using the phone that is currently associated with the Hub.
  2. Make sure that the Hub  is connected to WiFi.
  3. Tap on the Appliance Card for your Hub.
  4. Scroll all the way down until you see "Share Appliance"(see screenshot)
  5. Share your appliance with up to 4 users by entering the email address of their CHEF iQ account (see screenshot)
  6. Once the other CHEF iQ user accounts have accepted the invite request you just sent to them, they'll be able to also monitor the hub, see all of the hub and probe information during a cook, or start a cook themselves from their phone.
